You can go for commerce line.For a banking sector job study in the commerce line is the best.

12th students are eligible for bank clerk posts. If they are any advertisements from the banks for these posts, she can apply. But the competition is very high and she has to fare well in both written as well as an oral test also. Many graduates and Postgraduates will also be appearing for these posts these days. Even engineering graduates are also trying for these posts. So she has to work hard and get proper coaching and put on a very good effort to get selected.

I suggest that she should concentrate on her studied and complete graduation in commerce. While studying she can also put in some efforts and try to get good coaching for the entrance tests. Even she can apply for some jobs and appear for the written test so that she will understand the methodology of these entrance tests and she will get acquainted these tests. This experience will help her.

In view of the above, I would advise your niece to take admission in Graduation and simultaneously start undertaking coaching for Bank PO and Bank Clerical examinations. The examination pattern is totally different and there is no relationship with subjects to be taken in Graduation.

I think, as a bright student, she can undergo the pressure of both (Graduation and Banking ccoaching) and would be successful in both.

Congratulations to score 97% in 12th. It is really great to get such a good score. There are various exams for 12th pass students like clerk level, office assistant etc. She can prepare forIBPS, SSC and various bank examinations.

Better to complete Graduation first, that will open up multiple career options in government banking sectors. As she scored 97% in 12th, seems she is very studious. Please encourage her to complete graduation by opting B.Com and then let her prepare for banking sector jobs. She will definitely crack the good Jobs and better post in banking sector.

Career making requires a look on the available options and then deciding to go for one of them based on the interest of the student. It is a fact that a student will do excellent in his area of interest rather than something which is forced on him by the elders. So identifying the interest is one of the crucial things which is to be completed early in the students life so that he gets prepared mentally to achieve it.

For those who have an interest in commerce, business and industry, going for commerce stream makes sense. In that line one can pursue for a banking career by appearing in IBPS exam, can learn financial and accounting packages and try for the job in the industry. Generally these avenues will start opening only after graduation except for bank clerk. After graduation one can think of pursuing M.Com. or CA or MBA in finance or course in Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or course in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) etc and there are many more such options when you enter this stream.

Only thing is one has to see the trend of earlier question papers and prepare in those lines as most of the places questions are asked related to GK, General English, Reasoning, Logical approach and Mathematical abilities etc.

One of the most important thing that is to be noted is that whatever be the aspirations and ambitions of a student be, it is necessary to prepare for it right from today. It is the cumulative hard work that counts and not the studies just before a few months of the exams.

The fact is without completing Graduation, she would not be able to appear in Clerks' Grade or Bank PO Grade. It would be most appropriate for her to simultaneously go for coaching for banking along with Graduation.

I reiterate that without completing Graduation she would not be able to join a Public Sector Bank.
