Elligible or not for mathematics teacher in school

All engineering graduates are eligible to go for B.Ed. Earlier days engineers are less and they are got jobs easily. So no engineer is thinking of going for B.Ed. Those days they are not eligible to go for B.Ed. But now there are many engineers and jobs are less. So they are trying to go for B.Ed also. Accordingly UGC also made B.Ed course available to Engineers also. Once you complete your B.Ed you will be eligible to teach in primary schools and high schools. You can teach mathematics and other subjects. This depends on the subjects you choose in your B.Ed course. If you choose mathematics you can teach mathematics. There is no necessity that you have to do graduation or honours in mathematics for teaching mathematics.

You can go for B.ed after your B.Tech whatever the stream may be but the Eligibility criteria for B.ed for most of the top universities is 55% aggregate marks in B.Tech. or B.E. and the specialization must be in Science and Mathematics, Others may differ from with college you choose. BSc CS, BCA, MCA students are also eligible.

But you can apply for BTC and join as a teacher in primary schools. these are for 1st class to 5th class.

whereas passing NET may be more useful to pursue a teaching career. Think over again and take a second opinion.

An engineering graduate is eligible for doing B.Ed. You will get admission in B.Ed. depending upon your engineering degree marks and one has to have at least 50% marks in engineering. So you can very well go for that and select the subjects like Mathematics as per your teaching interest. B.Ed. is a mandatory qualification for teaching in schools. With your engineering background you will have no difficulty in pursuing the scientific subjects including Mathematics.

So it is advisable to go for B.Ed and select the subjects there accordingly.

Once you complete this course then you can apply for the post of teaching as per the vacancies announced time to time in different places.

Yes you can do B.Ed after the engineering course. There are many engineers who are doing this these days because of the lesser jobs they find in the industries. You are eligible to teach maths after you do B.Ed course. Basically B.Ed course is basically for teachers where they are given training specially designed for the teachers.

But i advise you to go for teaching in engineering college as these days there are lots of engineering colleges and you may get a teaching job there too. For it you will have to do M.Tech and few college recruits teachers after B.E also, you don't have to do B.Ed for taking a teaching job in an engineering college.

Since you have already covered the Engineering course from Bengal Engineering recognised from the university and Mathematics subject was within your cirriculam up to fourth semesters, it indicates that there was full coverage of Mathematics syllabus which is normally taught in degree level in Mathematics irrespective of the stream.
Now to be teacher in Mathematics in a high school, you need to persue the B.Ed degree from a recognised university so as to secure a post of a teacher in Mathematics.
In case, you feel the regular course of B.Ed would be time consuming, it can even be taken up from IGNOU or from any distance education mode such as Karnataka Open University or Manipal Univesity of Distance education while doing the job of a Mathematics teacher in some private school. In that way preparation of the course can be taken up with your convenience and timings.
You may even think of a better option to clear GATE so as to clear M.Tech and finally clear NET. In that way, you are not going to change your track with respect to your stream, and you can enjoy the job of a Lecturership in a government engineering colleges as well.
