  • Rashtriya Military schools have many of its alumni in high positions in Armed Forces. Earlier they were meant for the wards of defence persons but later in 1952 they were opened to the civilians also. They take students for admission in class VI, IX and XI. For VI and IX entrance test is there but for the class XI the admissions are based on the merit of class X followed by the interview.

It can also be obtained by post by sending self addressed slip and demand draft for Rs 600 (Rs 325 for SC/ST). Demand Draft should be made in the name of 'Principal , Rashtriya Military School' and payable at Dholpur.

Students should be of 15 to 16 years of age as on 1st Jul of the academic year. Six months relaxation in upper age limit is permissible for the wards of personnel killed in Military action.
The candidates will have to go under a medical test in the Military Hospital or Command/ Zonal Hospital.

70% seats are reserved for the wards of Junior Commissioned Officers of Army, Navy and Airforce. 30% are reserved for wards of other officer of defence and wards of civilians. • For getting admitted into Class XI, there should be a vacancy in that class in the school you want to get admitted.
The seat allocation will be made on the basis of your Class X marks. There is no separate written test for this lateral entry. The minimum age is 15 years and maximum of 16 years. The age will be as on 1st July of the year of admissions. You can contact the administration of the school and get the application form.
