Manipal university is a private university and has achieved its distinction in offering quality education in diverse fields and to manage excellency in the different fields, the teaching staffs - strength is around 2500 and the helping staff is four times the number of teaching staff.
Hence it would be certainly a wise choice if you opt for this private university. If you happen to be there, you will certainly like their mode of teaching and the friendly talk between the professors and the pupils would surprise you.
Photonics is an interesting subject dealing with the photons in the chapter of light in Physics. Hence to understand the concept of Photons, you need to understand the different principals of light such as Diffraction grating, slitting, Newton's Law of Light, Huygens - principal etc s to have sound clarity in the Photonics.
To have selection in Photonics, you must have secured distinction marks in Physics or have secured first class marks in your Honours paper in Physics and apart from this your performance in the oral - interview should be equally impressive.
Once you complete M.Sc in Photonics from this university, you can join in R& D activity or opt for teaching in the similar line.
