How to get children's names added to BPL card

Go to the website of the BPL site. National Government Service Portal.
In that portal, you will find the application form in that site.
Download the form and fil the application as required.
Attach a group photo of your family and a copy of the Aadhaar card.
You can submit it in the nearest Zonal office concerned. You will get the corrected card through the post.

Ration card is a government provided facility for the people living below poverty line as it helps them in buying the food items at a low price. The government has provided facility for addition or deletion of a person in the ration card. The name are added when there is a birth in the family or when there is a marriage in a family. There is deletion when there is death or when there is a marriage in a family. Let us go through the steps of adding a name in ration card.

Visit your Food and Civil Supplies Department Office in your area and obtain a form to add the name in the existing ration card. After getting the form, you need to fill in the required details in the form and you submit the application form with the required documents. The documents required are as given below :
- Birth Certificate of the children issued by the local municipal body
- Original ration card of the family.
- ID Proof of Parents such as Aadhaar Card or any ID proof.
Once the application is submitted, a verification will be done and a new ration card will be issued and dispatched at your residential address. Normally, the standard time for the addition of name in the ration card is 2 to 3 weeks.

There are two ways of getting it done. First is by visiting the official website of the Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs of the particular state where you are residing. Every state does it independently. There, you can get the application form for adding the names of the family members to your existing BPL card. You can download and fill this form and enclose all the required documents like proof of date of birth of children, parents name, family photo etc and then submit this physically in the concerned office. Other way is directly go to the office and enquire and fill the form and submit along with all the necessary documents. As you have already got the BPL form in respect of yourself and your wife so a copy of that will also be required as a supporting document. You will get your revised BPL card within 10-15 days time.

If your family is enjoying the benifit of BPL card, it would rather be easy for you to enrol the name of newly born baby. You will have to visit the office of Food and Civil supply department with an application requesting the authorities to include the name of the infant. They would provide you a form to be filled up with the relevant details and apart from it, the photocopies of the following enclosures are essential-
1)Photocopy of Aadhar card of the parents
2) Submission of the old BPL card for the inclusion of newly born baby.
3) Birh - certificate issued by the concerned Hospital or the local Munucipal body.
In the event of any death of any family - member within the family or any addition of newly born baby in the family, the BPL card is to be updated in the concerned office.
