CBSE Board 10th Exam 2025 minimum age criteria

The minimum age required for appearing in Class 10th board examination under CBSE syllabus is 14 years as on 1st October of the year in which student is studying Class 10th.
Your Son's Date of Birth is 6.10.10.
Presently he is in 5th class. He will appear for his examination of 10th class in March 2025. By that time he is completing his 14th year and running 15th year. He will complete the 14th year on 5.10.10 but as per rule, he should complete as on 1.10.10. So there is a shortage of a few days. But they can exempt up to 6 months less also. You have to contact the school and do the needful for obtaining the exemption certificate from the concerned authorities.

Date of birth of your child is 6.10.10 and is currently studying in class five. The minimum age for admission in class one is five years as per CBSE cirriculam and thus he becomes eligible to appear his class ten in March 2025. But while calculating his age on the 1st of October 2024, there seems to be a shortfall of six days in his completion of 14 years on 1 st of October.
However, you need not worry on this account and for such a shortfall, your son will be given exemption. The Principal of the school would intimate CBSE for the needful.
