  • You have done your graduation in IT. You want a government job in the IT field. You have no financial support to go for MCA. Job is your immediate need.

Jobs in the IT field are more in the private sector when compared to jobs in the government sector. So if you don't want to work in the private sector it is very difficult to get a job in government sector even after doing MCA also. I am not discouraging you but I am telling you the realities. So, first of all, you rethink about your stand and if you feel getting a job is more important try for a job in the private sector also. You register your CV on naukri.com and timesjob.com and other similar portals. You will be getting alerts from them and you can apply for all suitable posts. You go through the newspapers and Employment news and start applying for all suitable private as well as government jobs. You may get a job. Meanwhile, in some private institutes try to acquire some additionals skill in the IT field. You can refer jobs section on Indiastudychannel also and you may come across some posts and you can apply for them.

But you still say that I don't want a private job, then you have to go for B Ed. This is a Bachelor of Education course of 2 years duration. Once you complete this training, you can try for a government teacher post by attending the DSC examination that is being conducted by the state governments for recruiting teachers in government high schools.

Another option is to try for all Public Service Commission examinations for which you are eligible and prepare well for the entrance test. All these are time taking processes and may take a minimum of 2 to 3 years time duration. If you want an immediate job try in the private sector and get into any job. These days we are not in a position to select the jobs we like. First of all, we should get into a job and while working there we should try for our dream job.

My sincere advice to you is to get into a job and then improve qualification through distance mode or part-time and simultaneously try for a better job in the private or the government sector. Waiting for a government job may not be a wise decision.

You may start appearing in the Probationary Officers Examination in the Banking system in both Public Sectors Banks and the Private ones. You will have to clear both written and oral interview so as to emerge successful. You may take the help of the professional institutes to horn your skill required to crack such tests.
    2) See the previous papers of State Civil Service Examination of your own state and prepare the same sincerely for both compulsory and optional papers so as to get the job of BDO.
    3) You can look out the advertisements of LIC Probationary officers and make a thorough preparation in this line with the help of the reputed institutes.
    4) In the Public - sectors, there is sometimes demand of Management - trainee ( Administration) such as SAIL, DVC, ONGC etc. You should prepare accordingly to grab this post. • After graduation in computer science there are many Govt/ PSU openings where one can apply for the respective written test and interview. If one can do MCA then even after that also almost same openings will be there. So if one is in dire need of a job, it makes sense to apply for the same after graduation itself. The various Govt/PSU organisation where computer degree holders are taken as executives in their companies are as follows. You have to go to the respective site for further details of the jobs they are offering to the graduates in computer science -

    1. Banking Service - If you have interest in this area then you can prepare for the banking service entrance exam for clerk or probationary officer in the various PSU banks in our country. These exams are conducted by IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) every year and are a good career option.

    2. PSUs - There are many PSUs in our country which advertise posts for various disciplines including computer science. Though there is a tough competition but one can prepare hard and try to qualify in that. Some of these PSUs are - Coal India Limited (CIL), Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd., Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) etc.

    3. Govt Organisations - One can apply in them after going through the job advertised in the newspaper or employment portals. Some of the top Govt organisations are - Center for Development of Advance Computing (CDAC), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI),
Intelligence Bureau (IB), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bhabha Atomic research Centre (BARC) etc.

    4. Administrative services - In our country there are entrance exams for state Govt administrative services as well as central Govt and one can apply in them. This requires a lot of preparation and hard work as every graduate in our country tries his luck best for it.

    5. Railways - Indian Railways is a very big organisation and requires qualified people for running its operations and recruits various people in different disciplines including computer persons. So it is a lucrative line.

    6. Post Office - Post Office also recruits people from all the disciplines and with the computerisation of the Post Office services the scope for the computer graduates is also increasing. So this is also an area to be explored.

    Knowledge is power.

  • I do not know exactly what subject you have graduated from. But your ambition to do MCA comes from a computer-related subject. It is a misconception that MCA is mandatory for IT-related work. Do not insist on getting a government job. Because there are very few posts in government service.

if you have a Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science Engineering, it is mainly suited for multinational companies (MNCs) associated with IT. There are thousands of MNCs in India. They have also created tens of thousands of jobs. Therefore, you should look for this sector. The remuneration will be higher than in Government Service.

But in every State Government and Central Government, semi or Quasi-Government organizations, Banks, Post Office Service and the major companies also having positions for IT/Computer Science Engineering professionals. Verify the job-related publications, portals daily and send applications for such posts. They will call for an interview. Until then, make significant preparations to perform well in the interview. Once you have a job, you can consider joining the MCA.
