Hi Rajendra.
I think we all know that cricket was brought to India by the British in the early 1700s and the first cricket match was played in 1721. In 1792, the first cricket club in India was established in Calcutta. Though until June 25, 1932, India's national cricket team did not play its first Test match. It used to be one of the weaker cricket teams in the world but now the picture has changed.
India played its first International Test match against England at Lord's, London in the year 1932. It continued from June 25th to June 28th. It was led by C K Nayudu, who at that time, was considered as the best Indian batsman. During that time, captain of Indian Cricket Team was Maharaja of Porbandar. The Indian Cricket Team was not strong during that time and it lost the match by 158 runs.
India played its first One Day Internationals against England at Headingley, Leeds on July 13, 1974. Ajit Wadekar was the captain of Indian Cricket Team during that time. Even in ODIs, India started as a weak cricket team and it couldn't qualify for the second round in the first two editions of the Cricket World Cup.
India played its Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on December 1, 2006, and it won its first-ever Twenty20 International match by six wickets. At that time, Virender Sehwag was the captain of Indian Cricket Team.
Even though Indian started weakly, it is ranked first in Tests, second in ODIs and fifth in T20s by the ICC, as of June 25, 2019.
Hope it continues to become strong and the best Cricket Team in the world.
Make love to life before it divorces you.
