  • Physiotherapy is an associated career in the medical line and it has good scope as more and more cases of physical disabilities and problems related to muscles and ligaments disorders are coming up for medical examination because of the sedentary life style of the people and other medical reasons. These problems are easily managed with the physiotherapy which is a sure shot way to cure them just by appropriate exercises and body movements. For example frozen shoulder which is a common ailment can be cured with some simple exercises over a period of 15-20 days without taking any oral medicines.

    After 10+2 one can apply for Bachelor in Physiotherapy (B.PT.) course. The course duration is 4-1/2 years. The candidates must have done 10+2 with at least 50% marks and with the subjects physics, chemistry and biology. He should have also attained an age of 17 years. After completing graduation one can go for 2 years Masters course also in this field. The exam is conducted by the individual institutions

  • After passing the 12th standard with a minimum 50% marks from a recognised institute one can join in bachelor of physiotherapy (BPT). The admission will be based on the entrance test. One has to apply as per the procedure laid down by the institute and attend the entrance test. The admission will be based on the rank obtained in the entrance test. This is a full-time degree course and the course duration is four and a half years. There are another two similar courses. They are Bachelor of Occupational therapy (BOT)and Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics(BPO).

    The syllabus will cover some of the subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Psychology, KiBiomechanics, Disability prevention etc.

    After completing the above course one can opt for a job or can also go for higher studies like Post Graduation courses and Doctorate courses.

  • Physiotherapy is a branch of paramedical science that helps in the management of various neuromuscular, skelton and other system of the body such as cardiovascular, Neurology, Geriatrics etc. The main function of the Physiotherapist is to eliminate the pain with which a patient is suffering and they can deal with the patients having aches in the various parts of the body - system.
    In order to get the admission in the BPT courses of any recognised institution, the aspirant must have passed 10+2 with a recognised board securing a minimum aggregate of 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Bilology and apart from it they have to clear the both written and oral tests as prescribed by the institution and selection will be made on the basis of merit.
    85% seats are allocated to the aspirants of the same state where the institution is situated and rest 15 % percent are reserved for the aspirants hailing from other states.
    The duration of the course is 4 year 6 months.
    There is also the provision of intake of aspirants from the NEET quota where in the aspirants have to qualify the test with the minimum cut off marks for the Physiotherapy. Here also the minimum aggregate for the general candidates is 50 % including Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However for the candidates for OBC, SC/ST and economically poor sections have been fixed at 40 %.
    The course of the Physiotherapy are much in demand and almost all the Multispeciality- hospitals have their own group of Physiotherapist. With putting a service of minimum of five years they can earn around Rs 100000/- per month and with the time their emoluments may surge substantially.
