  • 1. Thiruvananthapuram is having very good hotels at affordable prices. They are very safe.
    2. Anatapadmanbha Swamy is very attractive and one should visit that temple without fail. This is in the center of the city. Taxis are available to go there. This temple is very near to many of the good hotels and you can even walk down to the temple. There is a dress code for the people to visit this temple. The required clothes will be available on rent and you can get them and after darshan, you can return it. I have visited this temple two times and it will take a maximum of 3 hours to have a good darshan.
    3. Kanyakumari is about 95 km from Trivandrum by road. There are trains from this place to Kanyakumari. The distance by train is about 87 Km. There are buses also. You will get taxis also. My personal opinion is to hire good Innova and go by road. You can visit all the places comfortably. I have gone to this place with my family on the road from Trivandrum. The road is good. Please visit the Vivekananda rock memorial also here.
    4. From Trivandrum to Madurai, the distance by road is about 316 Km. By train, the distance is 300 Km. The aerial distance is about 200 Km. There are three direct trains from this place to Madurai. There are many direct buses from this place to Madurai. Kallada Travels is one of the famous operators operating buses from this place to Madurai. There is a flight also from Trivandrum to Madurai.

You can complete your site seeing in Trivandrum and then Kanyakumari. Once you finish these two places you can go by bus or train to Madurai. From Madurai, you can go back to your place.

    5. Ola and Uber cabs are available in this place.

  • Thiruvananthapuram is a calm and quite city and there are many attractions near and there around the city. It is not ananthapadnabha Swamy temple, the correct name is Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple which is world famous now with its hidden wealth. It is a huge temple and the artistic work carved in rocks are very attractive. The temple constructed at the time of Travancore king ruling. The male must wear "mundu" inside the temple and no trousers, lungis or pants allowed. Also for ladies, sari is the allowed cloth. No Chudidars or such other cloths allowed inside the temple. As everyone knows the daety is Padmanabha Swamy is another form of Mahavishnu. In this temple the daety can see in the form of laying down, not in standing position.

Uber and Ola cabs are available in the city and Kovalam area.

Other than Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple, you can see many attractive beaches in Thiruvananthapuram. They include Shankumukham which is in the city and a famous outing area for the people living in the city. Kovalam is a world famous beach near to Thiruvananthapuram. Varkala is another outstanding beach where lot of foureigners travel there. Veli Lake and beach is another attraction for both kids and elder people. Ponmudi is a hill station near Thiruvananthapuram.

Thiruvananthapuram is a safe city to roam around in the normal conditions and being the capital city, you will get the police help immediately if required.
