  • How to cure a strange skin problem which comes and goes?

Suffering from a skin problem which is not responding to treatment from medicines and lotions? Check out the answers here to know if there are any useful suggestions on how to deal with it.

My age is 24 and I am facing a body skin problem for quite a while now, for about two months. Initially, I thought it was some type of hives. I used medicine and lotion, but it did not get cured. At night, it got worse. Basically it looks like a kind of long line, with three or four lines and sometimes it looks as though a word is on the skin. It comes and goes in about 20 to 30 minutes. Sometimes, itchy bumps also appear.

  • Skin - problems occur due to impurity of blood and in order to eliminate this disorder, the application of ointment on the external part of body where it is visible may not serve the desired result but contrarily it will suppress the disease and would penetrate inside the body system. There are definitely aurvedic cures which can eliminate this disorder permanently without having side effects. I am enlisting a few remedies which if used for sometime will cure disorder with the hundred percent success.
    1) Consumption of Aloe - Vera juice - Aloe - Vera juice contains properties of antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral in nature and hence its regular consumption to the tune of 20 ml along with equal amount moderately hot water mixed in juice should be taken twice daily in the empty stomach for at least three months so as to get positive results.
    2) Mahamanjistharistha is the combination of several blood purifying herbs mixed in this concoction and the same is boiled with the addition of appropriate volume of water for some time and after sometime, the same is filtered, it has to be consumed around 15 ml twice daily after the principal meal for at least forty days so as to get the permanent cure.
    3) Take one table spoon of Trifala churna twice daily in the empty stomach followed by some hot water for at least two months along with plane foods containing less oils and spices.
    4) Chew six to eight Neem leaves after washing them thoroughly and should be consumed regularly in the morning in empty stomach. These leaves have the germicidal property.
    5) You should consume Apple, Carrots, Grapes, Lemons abundantly to purify your blood.
    6) Giloy is tridoshic in nature meaning thereby it can take care of excess Vata, Cough and Pitta and its regular consumption would strengthen the body immunity with the elimination of blood disorder.
    7) Avoid fast foods such as Pizza, Burger, excess use of Maida and curd in the night because of its adverse effects on Cleanising the blood.

  • Skin problems arise because of the bacterial infection or impurity of body fluids. Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose and the doctor will prescribe some general skin ointments and anti allergy medicines. In such situations sometimes the home remedies are more effective and one can try them for this condition. Some of these are -

    1. Oats - Colloidal suspension of the oatmeal is a great skin protectant and relieves many of the skin conditions. One can take oatmeal bath by adding one cup of oatmeal in the bathtub and immerse oneself in it for at least 20-25 minutes. Oats contain anti-inflammatory chemicals like linoleic oil, oleic acid, and avenanthramides. These help in reducing the level of cytokines which are a type of proteins secreted by cells and can cause inflammation of the skin.

    2. Aloe vera - It is an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and antioxidant material as it contains vitamin B-12, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamins A, C, E, enzymes, carbohydrates, sterols, and essential fatty acids. Application of fresh Aloe vera gel twice a day helps in getting rid of many skin conditions.

    3. Coconut oil - Virgin coconut oil is having an antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties. This oil is very good in keeping the skin moisturiser. Application of the oil on skin is very beneficial and cures many skin conditions.

    4. Tea tree oil - Tea tree oil is believed to work against bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoal infections of the skin. It is to be applied on the skin after diluting it with other oils like olive oil or coconut oil.

    5. Baking soda - One can apply a paste of baking soda with water to the affected skin areas and then after some time rinse it and dry it and apply some moisturiser. Alternatively one can take bath with the 1 cup soda added to a tub of water. It is a good remedy for itchy or rashes skin.

    6. Indigo naturalis - It is a dried Chinese herb oinment and is to be applied two times a day to the affected areas of the skin. It is good remedy in conditions of psoriasis and other conditions caused by inflammation.

One thing to be remembered about these remedies is that these are to be undertaken for a long period to achieve the desired results. Sometimes the bacterial infections of the skin transfers their bacterias to the dress worn and in such case the worn dress requires to be washed with hot water otherwise the bacterias will not be killed and again come back to the skin. So, taking such hygienic precautions also helps in skin ailments.

  • Skin is a very important part of our body and we have to maintain it well. Many people will have very sensitive skin and it will get reacted very easily. If I spend some 10 to 15 minutes in a thick planted area and if I move for some time I will see the symptoms mentioned by you on the skin. After some time they will disappear. Sometimes they will be very big and there may be some itching also. Some times when I sleep I will get red long lines on the skin and after some time they will also disappear. I was facing a problem. Then I contacted a friend of mine who is a dermatologist. He has seen my skin and told me that my skin is very sensitive and very small friction will give these problems.

He advised me to apply Cow Ghee or Cow butter to the skin and wait for half an hour and then have a bath. He also advised me to use a soap that gives good foam and will not get dissolved easily. He suggested dermodue soap. He advised me to apply coconut oil throughout the body while you go for your sleep. He has not suggested any medication.

I used cow Ghee in the evenings. I used to apply the ghee whole body and then wait for half an hour and then have to bath. Before going to the bed I used to apply Coconut oil. Whenever I want to go to plants I will apply coconut oil to the uncovered body parts. I started using the soap prescribed. After 45 days I have not noticed the problem again. Still, I use dermodue soap only. Small small black spots on the skin disappeared and I am very comfortable. I advise you to follow the above so that you will get out of the problem mentioned by you.

  • Generally the skin problems are treated with some lotions or ointments but these problems come back often after a gap of time. Home remedies can be tried and they also work from individual to individual case wise. A change in lifestyle might help to get rid of these problems. Some of the suggestions are -

    1. Do not use soap excessively. It is not advisable to use it on a daily basis. Use Neem soap in place of scented ones.
    2. Certain foods give allergic reactions to people. Identification of such foods and reducing their intake could help.
    3. Using some antiseptic liquid lie dettol or savlon with the bath water may help in reducing the skin problems.
    4. Use hot water as much as possible for bathing.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

  • Lines on skin and itching!

Its your body and you need to first meet a dermatologist instead of trying any medications on your own or the home remedies

  • Any disease can initially be treated through allopathic. If response is poor or ineffective, it is better to move Ayurveda or unani. The nearest Kottakkal Ayurveda clinic/hospital can give a good remedy.
It is highly suggested to approach Sri Dharmasthala manjunatha Hospital, located at Kuthpadi, Udupi, Karnataka state.
