  • After completing your BCA, you can do your MCA or M Sc in Computer applications or B.Sc in computers in India or abroad. There are many good institutions in India as well as other countries offering the above courses. The admission procedure will be based on the course you select and the Institute you select.

In India, there are special scholarships for SC candidates and there are reservations also for admission in government institutes. You can join in IITs and IISc Bangalore. You have to apply for admission and you have to get qualified in the entrance tests.

  • If you are interested to pursue your Masters in computer Science from some university abroad then for getting admission you should have a good score in GRE or TOEFL or IELTS along with your BCA degree before you apply for admission in that university. There are many countries where the universities offer MS or M.Sc. in computer science or other courses related to this field.

Generally these courses abroad are having a duration of 2 years. There will be a project or thesis also as a part of the curriculum. There are many options for selecting the Masters program in the foreign countries and you can choose from them the program of your choice and interest. Some of these are Masters in Computer Management, Masters Degree in Information Management (MIM), Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc IT), Masters in Information Security Management, Masters in Artificial Intelligence, Masters in Cyber security/ Cyber Forensics, Masters in VLSI/ Embedded Systems etc.

You can visit the various university sites for their fee structure and other modalities. Some of the prominent universities are Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, The University of Waikato, New Zealand; The University of Western Australia, Australia; University of Adelaide, Australia; Birmingham City University,UK; University of Bristol, UK; University of East London, UK; University of Hertfordshire, UK; University of South Wales, UK; University of Leicester, UK etc.

There is no reservation based on caste system in those universities. However certain scholarships are available to meritorious students which you can apply after taking admission there.

    Knowledge is power.

  • Now a days there are educational fairs where many foreign educational institutes come and advertise their courses. That is a place where one can get all the information in one go. Alternatively you can visit the internet sites of the reputed universities in foreign countries and get the information for the M.Sc. or MCA course there. The fee structure is generally on the higher side and it is expensive to study abroad as there is no stipend or scholarship available to the ordinary students.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

  • In case, you want to secure admission in a foreign university after BCA, you will have to secure at least distinction marks ( at least 75 percent in the graduation level) and then you need to pass either GRE or TOEFL or IELTS before you take admission in the foreign university. To clear the test as mentioned above, your English language should be above average so that this language does not pose problem in your ensuing examination.
Most of the foreign universities offer two year course programme known as MS or M.Sc in computer- science. The course structure being followed in the foreign university don't differ much as being taught in the Indian universities except the project assignments to be cleared time to time.
You can check through the Internet regarding the designation of their programmes and their fee - structure.
Some of the leading universities in the foreign countries are listed below -
    1) University of Bristol, UK
    2) University of South Wales,
    3) University of west Australia, Australia.
    4) Victoria University, New Zealand
    5) Univesity of South Wales UK etc
You can avail scholarships in case you are meritorious in your studies but the same can be availed of after your admission.

  • BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Applications which is a 3-year undergraduate degree course. The course teaches more related to computer systems, their applications and improves their problem-solving skills of a candidate related to the computer systems. After completion of the undergraduate course, there are many postgraduate degrees in which one can opt and Masters of Computer Application(MCA) is a correct stream for you to join after BCA as this will supplement your knowledge in the same field.

The higher studies options available for you after BCA are:
Master courses - Master of Computer Application (MCA), Masters in Computer Management(MCM), Masters Degree in Information Management (MIM), Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc IT), Master of Science in Management(MSM), Master of Commerce (M.Com), etc.

Career Opportunities options available for you after BCA are: A BCA pass-out can try for government jobs through competitive exams or in private firms but many companies or campus placement companies require a minimum of 55%-60% aggregate without any ATKT. They can apply as web designers or program developers or in hardware firms. Some of the firms or profiles that a BCA graduate can apply are Multimedia, Software Analyst, Teaching Faculty in IT and educational Institutes, System Organizer, Banks, Call Centers, Graphics designing, etc.

After BCA, you can opt for the following programmes:
