  • These courses are not very common but there are some places where such specialised trainings are given. Some of them are -

    1. Maven Silicon, Bangalore - They have an internship program in the area of semiconductor especially in very large scale integration and that would impart knowledge in designing and testing of the semiconductor circuits and assemblies.

    2. Vector India, Hyderabad - They have branches in Bangalore and Chennai. They also impart various trainings in Semiconductor area.

    3. Sinhgad Institute of Technology, Lonawala, Pune - They have some short term courses in this area and they have industry affiliation also. They have a sister concern as S. M. Technologies Pvt Ltd., Nagpur.

The job potential after such courses is limited as only the semiconductor manufacturer or design & testing agencies would higher such qualified people but seeing its importance in the industry one can try for this career line also.

    Knowledge is power.

  • 1. Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, is offering a short term certificate course on Semiconductor Technology and Manufacturing.

    2.RiseTime Semiconductors Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad.

    3.Neoschip Semiconductors, Bangalore.

    4. AdventSilicon Systems, Hyderabad.

    5. MosChip Institute of Silicon Systems, Hyderabad.

  • Semiconductors also are known as Integrated Circuit ( IC ) Contain several Pathways that link millions of transistors and other electronic components. These transistors store information on the silicon wafers, a Natural Semiconductor. A Very Large Scale Integration ( VLSI ) design engineer or a chip designer design these chips using software even though the Integrated Circuit ( IC ) is hardware. The design of a chip involves programming and interfacing external circuitry to the chip, Checking both hardware and software functioning in a real-time environment and components like Digital Signal Processing ( DSP ) and Microcontrollers.

Eligibility for the course: Any student or candidate having an Electronics or Computer Science or Electrical i.e ECE/ EEE/AEI/ CSE/ IT/ Electronics/ CS/ Mechatronics and allied branches/ Electronics branches and holding a Diploma, BE or B.Tech M.E or M.Tech degree in the said field and having an interest in hardware systems designing and programming can apply for the program.
