    Eligibility for joining this course:
    Graduation with 50% in any discipline. The medium of instruction should be English.
    Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English. Post-graduation in management with specialisation in Marketing/ Finance/ HR Management / operations. The PG should be from a UGC approved university and full-time course with a minimum of 55% marks. OR
    Post Graduation (full time) in Economics/Commerce/Psychology/Sociology/Public Administration/ Statistics/Mathematics or in an allied discipline from a recognized University in India or abroad with minimum 55% marks
    OR
    A professional qualification like CFA / CA / CWA / CS with 60% and above marks.

    Admission Procedure:

    The candidate who wants admission to this course should appear of IBSAT.

    It is an online aptitude test conducted by The ICFAI for students seeking admission to the MBA / PhD programs of IBS Hyderabad. It is an aptitude test on Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The test is of 2 hours duration. There centres for this test across the country
    Candidates with GMAT® score of minimum 500 and CAT with a minimum percentile of 60 are exempted from IBSAT.
    IBS Alumni, M.Phil Degree holders and UGC NET qualified candidates are also exempted from IBSAT.

    Shortlisted candiidates based on IBSAT / GMAT / CAT are called for selection process at IBS Hyderabad. The final selection is based on an aptitude test in Research methods, micro-presentation and Technical Interview.

    Process of applying for Ph.D in Marketing -
    Since you are management graduate with Marketing and would like to persue Ph.D in the same field, you should be familiar with the routes leading to your acceptance for the doctorate programme.
    In order to have your acceptance for the Ph. D in marketing, there are three routs given below -
    1) For all IIM's - CAT examination would be mandatory for applying for Ph.D with Marketing. You must have secured 100 percentile so that you can have the chance for the persual of Ph.D such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Kolkata etc.
    2) In relation to opting for IIT, all you need to qualify either GATE or UGC NET examination.
    Ensure that you have secured a respectable score in such an examination to be inducted into such a doctorate programme in Marketing.
    3) For any other University - You should be a qualified NET candidate apart from your clearance of the university entrance test.
    Once your candidature for the Ph. D programme is accepted, you will be asked to meet your guide for which a separate intimation will follow and he would select a topic in which you have to sustain your research.

  • There are many institutions in our country where one can get admission for doing part time PhD in marketing topics. The minimum eligibility is full time Post Graduation degree with at least 55% marks (some institute insist for 60%) in Economics / Commerce / Psychology / Sociology / Public Administration / Statistics/ Mathematics or full time professional qualification like CFA / CA / CWA / CS with at least 60% marks.
