  • Every university has its own rule and regulation. Some university conduct test for getting admission in ph.d. Some university enroll their student on basis of P.G marks. In some university, if candidate are NET qualified then they can get direct admission in ph.d.
There are many university available in north india where you can get admission through entrance test. Jawaharlal nehru university and Delhi university are known as best for taking higher degree. If you want to have more queries then search university website for details.

  • Each university will be giving an advertisement for admissions to Ph D. So you have to wait for the advertisement from the university where you want to get admitted. Before the advertisement comes also you can contact the department in which you wanted to do your research and contact the Professor under whom you want to work for your PhD. He will guide you and inform you about the advertisement. Generally, many universities will advertise and you may have to apply online and your guide name and the department also to be mentioned in that. Then the university will conduct a written test and people who got the minimum marks will be allowed to participate in the Oral Test. Once you qualified in that you will be given admission.
Then you have to inform the UGC or CSIR about your admission to the Ph D in so and so university and the university should forward your information with their remarks and you will receive the fellowship from CSIR/UGC.
Even though you are qualified in NET, you have to write the entrance test and then oral test.
There are some CSIR laboratories where Scientists there will be talking dome scholars for PhD. You can also try that. They will also give the advertisements or you can contact the laboratory with your application.

  • Clearing your NET entitles you for the consideration of your case for the post of lecturership in a constituent college depending upon your score in the NET and performance in the final interview before the interview board.
Now the NET entrance has no connection with your persual for Ph.D.
Each university will display advertisement in the leading daily indicating the number of entrants for the persual of Ph.D in each subject and you have to apply on line. Your application will be screened for your eligibility status mainly in respect of your marks in the qualifying examination. Then the next process is to clear the written test set for the selection of the aspirants and finally an oral interview will follow where the Board of Unterview will assess your eligibility condition.
Once you are selected through the process of interview, you will be asked to report to the department in which you will be carrying out Ph.D. Of course, the name of the professor guiding you in course of research will be indicated in a separate notification served to you in due course.
The next formality is to inform UGC or CSIR regarding your admission in the Ph.D in the selected university in the subject with which you have done your post graduation and the same will be forwarded by the university officials with their due remarks to the UGC or CSIR.
Ultimately you will be granted fellowship from UGC or CSIR.
Some research laboratories such as Central Fuel Research Institute require scholars for perusing Ph.D where you will be supported by the competent guide. You will have to see such notifications for availing your intake in such a programme.

  • It is true that there is no connection between NET and Ph.D. Every university invites application for getting admission in ph.d. Prior to admission, you should query the department where you want to pursue ph.d. Moreover, you should approach your research guide under whom are you planning to do Ph.D. Each indian university conduct written test as well as interview for getting admission in ph.d. For that, candidate have to apply online on respective website. All application form is screened for judging eligibility status in respect of scoring marks in last exam. After that, candidate can go for written exam which will be followed by interview. Thus, a merit list is prepared by adding obtained marks in written and interview. When advertisement comes, it's better to go university office for queries.
