  • How is Kasaul as a sightseeing place

Planning to visit Kasaul? Know about various sightseeing places in Kasaul from our strollers.

Hello members. I've heard about Kasaul and it's scenic beauty. Apart from this is there anything that is worth seeing in that area, like some sort of monument or historic place. Also I've heard that this place has some indigenous Jewish heritage of sorts. Jews are interesting people and I would love to meet them.

  • As mentioned by you there are many places for visiting in this place. This is a good time for visiting that area. But please think before finalising as COVID 19 is still not completely out and it is better to postpone tours these days.
The following are the places which are historical and you can visit them during your trip there.
    1. Gurkha Fort: This is a historical place. It is located in Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh. This fort is around 16 km away from Parwanoo. This heritage fort is surrounded by a dense forest. It is 4500 feet above sea level, A very good place for photography. You can go there in the afternoons.
    2. Christ Church: This is constructed by the British in 1853. There are many pine and deodar trees around this church. The ambience and the scenic environment are at their best. The architecture of the church is a feast to our eyes.
    3. Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanakji: It is an old Sikh's place of worship. It is situated on the outskirts of Kasauli. This place is having facilities to stay also. This place offers food to devotees who come from far off places.

River rafting, trout fishing, Camping, trekking are some of the things you can do here. Although one might need to take special permission for the fishing experience. It is considered to be as the best place for angling. There are various interesting, easy as well as difficult treks around Kasol and Malana. Kheer Ganga is one of the main treks.

Gazing at the beautiful mountains and unwinding in the lap of nature is what one can do while being here.

Kasol is a village in Parvati valley which is often referred to as mini Israel because of the in-habitation of Israelis in the region.

Malana village lies in close proximity of Kasol and is famous for beautiful Valleys
There is a Chabad house too in Kasol. The main religion of Israelis is Judaism and a Chabad house offers a cozy and peaceful environment to learn many things about Judaism.

Because of the in-habitation of large number of Israelis, the sign boards of many cafes and restaurants are in Hebrew for the convenience of the people living there. The food that you get here is to die for. You have options from Israeli, Italian, Indian cuisines. One should not leave the place before trying the famous food and desserts. Also, do try the famous rice beer which is alcohol free and is a bucket list drink.

So because too many Israelis visit Kasol every year and some of them have also settled here, this part of Himachal Pradesh is becoming more and more like Israel every other day with construction of Chabad house and Israeli cafes and a lot more things which seem Israeli. Hence, Kasol is called as the mini Israel of India.
