Wisdom tooth tilted and causing issues

My bottom wisdom teeth or third molar teeth are tilted as they did not grown fully straight and have caused a gap in between the second molar teeth. I had to get one third molar teeth extracted due to same and had to go for Root Canal Treatment (RCT) of the second molar. This happened around 3 years back, now the third molar on my left side has started causing the same issue.
I had consulted the dentist at that time of extraction of right 3rd molar, but he suggested to leave it as it is, as the roots of the teeth are deep and a little curved so they may break during extraction. But now because of the gap in between the third molar and second molar, food particles used to get stuck and no matter how much precaution I take it has slowly degraded and broke a little causing a bigger gap in between 2 molar teeths.
Now I suspect that the roots of the 3rd molar is exposed as I get a very bad smell out of it and also a little bit of painful sensation sometimes. I had consulted another dentist again over telephone and he prescribed a painkiller and an antibiotic, but the clinics are not opening as of now due to Covid 19, so he cannot inspect me in physical.
To avoid further damage I have stuffed the gap with cotton and try to avoid chewing from that end. I will go to the dentist once the clinics open up but as of now what should I do to prevent further damage and also what to do regarding extraction as my previous dentist advised against it. As I now suspect that the roots of 3rd molar is exposed, I will have to get it extracted but I am in dilemma.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
