(Maths) teacher and my question is that, I don't have 50% marks as aggregate in concerned(Maths) subject but I have 50% marks in combination subject (Maths, physics, computer). I also have above 50% marks aggregate in all 3 years. Am I eligible to become TGT Maths teacher?

  • You have entered the following personal data regarding your clarity for the TGT teacher-
    1) You have passed your B.SC along with the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Computers.
    2) Though your aggregate marks are exceeding 50 percent, but there is is a shortfall of marks in your Mathematics paper which is even less than 50 percent.
    3) You have cleared your CTET test.
Since you have fulfilled the the minimum eligibility criteria for the post with your aggregate marks being more than 50 percent, you are eligible to apply for the posts if advertised by the schools including the government school. All you need to satisfy the board of the selection committee.
However, it would be better on your part to earn experience in the Mathematics in some private school, even though they pay emoluments not up to your satisfaction level. Your exposure both in the private school and imparting tuitions in Mathematics would enhance your skill and the same will be helpful to you at the later stage of your teaching in the government school.

  • As mentioned in your query that you have completed your graduation in B.Sc. Computer Science qualified CTET and even have 50% marks in combination subject (Maths, physics, computer) plus above 50% marks aggregate in all 3 years that qualify the minimum eligibility criteria for TGT teacher. You can start your preparation and gain experience in the said subject by giving tuitions or joining any coaching centers that will help you get exposure to students, their questions and even improve your teaching skills. As when you find any good opening in private or government schools, you can apply for the said post and give your best in their interview so that you get selected for the Maths teachers post. • The TGT exam is conducted at the state level. To apply for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) Examination, a candidate must be a graduate and B.Ed. This exam can be given by the person who has passed B. Ed with graduation. After passing it, we become teachers. We know that it is possible only after B.ed to become a government teacher, so this exam is after B.ed.
TGT's vacancy government periodically brings together. This vacancy is taken out by the state government for the government high schools of its state. Apart from this, to meet the shortage of teachers in Kendriya Vidyalayas, the Central Government keeps on recruiting.
TGT does not have any course, instead, it is tested after B. Ed. If you are interested in this, then you can apply. Even if you are not willing, there is nothing. Its test varies from subject to subject.
If you qualify TGT test after doing B.ed then you can become a 9th and 10th class teacher in high school. For this, you do not need to pass tet.
An object type is asked. In this, negative marking is given on the wrong answer. The final selection is made by interview after passing the test. In its selection, the selection for the job is done by adding both the written test and interview numbers.

  • As mentioned above, you have completed B.SC with maths, physics and computer. And you have also qualified CTET. If you got marks less than 50% in mathematics then there would not be a problem. For becoming TGT, the candidate should have completed graduation with B.ED. So you enrol yourself for B.Ed either in regular mode or distance mode. There are many institutes in India that provide B.Ed degree in any mode.Along with it,
You should bring proficiency in maths subject by practising more so that if any govt vacancy comes and exam is conducted then you may qualify. TGT exam is conducted by state govt and time to time vacancy is advertised through online. Generally, in this exam written exam is followed by an interview. Final selection is done based on aggregate marks secured in written as well as interview.
