    How can I apply abroad after BPharma

    Aspiring to settle abroad in the pharma domain? Wondering if it is possible to make a career in a hospital or a medical shop as either full time or part time pharmacist? Find advice from our experts here.

    I am a pharmacist who has good experience and now I want to apply abroad.
    Is it possible? If yes, how?
    I want to prefer career abroad in pharmacy.
    Can I am also get attachment to any medical shop or hospital as pharmacist, or as a part time pharmacist there?
    I want to know about how can I make my career preferably in Singapore, New Zealand, Sweden etc.

  • I feel it is better to register for a Master degree in a good university abroad. Once you go there as a student you can try for a part-time job for your expenses. That will give you exposure to the chances there. By the time you complete your Master's degree, you will understand the opportunities well there. Without a Master's degree getting a job abroad is a difficult task. Some consultants may be there but reliability is very less.

    You may not have chances in Singapore. But you can try in Newzeland and Sweeden. For admission to M. Pharma, the following are the requirements.
    1. A pass in B.Pharma,
    2. Some experience in the Pharma industry
    3. A proof of language proficiency in English.
    4. Police report with no criminal or civil cases against the individual.
    You may be having some of your known people studying abroad. You can get information about the best university through them. Otherwise, go through the website of various universities and apply for the best as per the procedure mentioned on the website.

  • In case, you are interested for M.Pharma course of a foreign university, you should look for the countries such as USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Singapore etc so that you achieve enriched knowledge in this course. Though initially the pattern may seem tough since the aspirants need to clear TOEFL or IELTS test and this may appear time consuming if the aspirants don't undertake coaching with a reputed institution.

  • Pharmacy is a good discipline in the sense that medical area is going to flourish and expand in a big way and there will always be need for the pharmacist in India as well as in some foreign countries especially where medical facilities and hospitals is a thrust area.

    In this situation it will be a prudent thing to go for a Master degree in Pharmacy for those pharmacy persons who have completed their 4 year course in B.Pharm. If you fall in that category you can plan in that fashion. There are many universities abroad which offer Masters course in Pharmacy in online mode and the duration of the course is generally 1 to 2 years depending on the type of course and the university which is conducting it. A variety of programs are available and out of that one of the course can be selected based on the aptitude and interest area of the person. Some of these popular programmes are Pharmaceutical Management, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Clinical Pharmacy, Drug Discovery and Safety, and Technical Pharmacy.

    Some of the countries where some universities and colleges offer these courses are US, Sweden, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany etc and generally for the admission one has to have a good GRE score coupled with god score in English Proficiency Test like IELTS or TOEFL or PTE. Some colleges take their own admission fast also. These things slightly differ from country to country also as for example GRE is not a mandatory condition in UK.
