    I have chosen MLT(medical lab technician) Group in Intermediate. So what's next is good for a career, and what are the Future Job Opportunities? Is possible to jump MLT GROUP to any othe group like science,arts, commerce groups.

    If you have chosen MLT group at your intermediate stage, it an be said that you have taken a wise decision for your further persuasion of course such as Diploma in laboratory technician, B.SC in MLT or even you can join some certification courses. The duration of course would vary depending upon your selection of such courses. B.SC in MLT is a degree course offered by many eminent Institutions consisting of three year duration but in case of Diploma in MLT, the duration of the course would be of two years duration.
    Some of the best Institutions offering you B.SC in MLT are as follows-

    Considering the health issues of the people and the alarming rate of population, the scope of this courses has risen considerably and in terms of your emoluments and further promotion, it would prove highly satisfying ultimately.
    If you want to discontinue this course taking up other streams such as science or arts, it would be rather a time consuming factor since you are switching over the present course.
    However, if you want to be inducted in some premier institutions, look out their prospectus where you could get detailed information regarding the admission procedure.
    However, being a laboratory technician, you need to have the following perquisites for your faster growth in this line -
    1) The aspirants should be disciplined and should have sufficient patience in course of investigation.
    2) They should be able to perform the test/ tests correctly within a limited time frame.
    3) In case a specialist or physician asks any information relating to blood reports, they should flash the same correctly taking minimum time in representation of the facts.
    4) The aspirants should have sufficient information regarding the technical equipment's installed in the hospitals or in the diagnostic centre.
    5) They should be proficient in the computer operations and should be familiar with filings of the reports of the patients properly.
    6) Sometimes they will have to stay beyond their duty timings and for that they should be well prepared.
    They can be deputed in the following areas depending upon their specialisations -

    5) Microbiology

    Many doctors depend on lab technicians for diagnosing the problem of a patient. When a patient goes to a doctor, he will send the patient for various clinical tests before finalising the reason for the ill health and starting the treatment. The MLT professionals test the samples =Diagnosis of the disease is the stage when MLT professionals come into play! In many cases, Doctors refer the patients to medical labs so that they may get tested and correct diagnosis can be made.     A B.Sc degree is a three-year course and you will have both classroom lectures as well as practical work also.
    Once you complete your Intermediate you are eligible for admission.
    Many institutes are offering these courses and the admission process varies from one institute to another institute. It may be based on merit or based on an entrance examination. You have to refer to the website of the institute to know the process and to submit the application.
    Once you complete your graduation, you will have many chances to join as a technologist in any clinical laboratories. Even with your intermediate, some may offer you a technician post. But I suggest you continue your intermediate with MLT and join B.Sc. The health services requirements are increasing the world over as the population increases and you will have plenty of chances to get employed in a good corporate hospital. If you have interest even you can go for a PG course also.

    After completing your class XII with MLT (Science stream) you have a good scope in the field of Medical Lab Technology. You can think of going for diploma in Medical Lab Technology or a UG degree (B.Sc.) in it. There is a good demand of Medical Lab Technicians in healthcare industry and the students who complete their diploma or B.Sc. course in Medical Lab Technology are eligible to apply for those positions where there is a good career in this line.

    The Medical Lab Technician does the job of clinical lab testings and supports the doctors and surgeons in their diagnosis and treatment of the patients. Medical Lab Technician is basically a paramedical position and are hired by many hospitals, laboratories, and pharmaceutical companies. They are generally given responsible work in the workplaces like Blood Bank, Pathology lab, Biochemistry lab, and Microbiology lab.

    The diploma course in MLT is of 2 years while B.Sc. course is of 3 years duration. In diploma programmes the admissions are generally done through the merit of class XII marks but for admission in B.Sc. course one has to appear in the entrance test.

    The students who have passed their class XII in science stream and secured at least 40% marks in it are eligible for the diploma course and those who have secured at least 50% marks in class XII are eligible to appear in the entrance exam for the B.Sc. MLT course. Entrance test would be either State-level or University-Level depending on the college where one is seeking admission. After the test is over the candidates based on their merit will be called for counselling session.

    As mentioned above, you have chosen MLT (science) in intermediate. No doubt, It is a very good course from a career point of view. As you know, lab technician is more in demand in all health sector. If you go to the hospital for treatment of disease then at first, the doctor refers the patient to a lab technician to diagnosis the disease so that patient can be treated better. After completing XII, you can go for further study like B.sc (degree) in the MLT field. Many universities provide B.SC Degree course. Rules vary from University to University. Some university takes admission based on the XII mark sheet whereas some conduct entrance exam for that. And diploma course is also there which can be done for enhancement of career. Some university which provide B.Sc degree course in this field are as:-

    3. Bangalore University
    4. Aligarh Muslim University
    Apart from these, there are different B.SC MLT courses which can be done from job purpose are as:-

    Medical Lab Technology area is getting much prominence recently as people are understanding the importance of lab testing for the diagnosis and treatment of various ailments. In our country the Govt has given much importance to the healthcare industry and in this situation there is going to be increased job potential for the students who undertake courses in this niche area. The students who have completed their class XII in Science stream are eligible for diploma and UG courses in this segment and there are many institutions which offer various courses in this stream. These courses are basically aligned in the direction of medical learning but more emphasis is given for pathological testing and learnings in relations between the symptoms and disease curing through lab testing and analysis. Day by day the area of pathology is developing more and more as new tests are being designed by the researchers in this area.
