  • The full form of STEM education is Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics education. It is such an education system that provides education by integrating the above subjects. This is a new dimension in the education system which is more attractive and systematic than the traditional education system. In the general education system, when a subject is taught, only bookish knowledge is told in it, some important information related to it, such as technology, is not told about the progress being made in that field.

Due to all these reasons, the researcher of the education sector thought of a new education which could change the elementary education of the student. With the advent of STEM education, the employment sector will also get a big boost. In the present era where competition is increasing every day, STEM education is proving to be very important for students in such times Importance of STEM education

The aim is not only to make the students good learners, but its main objective is to prepare a child in such a way that along with his career, he can also promote new ideologies and new discoveries. Children's thinking ability is further developed, this is definitely a good path for the future. When the basis of education is made only on practical and experiences, then such education becomes a new dimension in which students are confident and motivated.

  • STEM is a unique approach to teaching and learning, This education system concentrates more on individual students' understanding capabilities and interests. ThisSTEM education is different from regular traditional education. STEM education integrates subjects to connect each subject to the other. Technological developments are given priority in this method.
In this methodology, classroom teaching will be connected to the outside world and teaches you how you can apply the subject in various aspects of your lives. STEM gives importance to collaboration, communication, research, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. These skills play an important role in the lives of students for their success.
This concept is unique and gives us minimum knowledge about various science and technological aspects. These days these skills are very important for a better career and growth.

The following are some institutions in India offering STEM education.

  • STEM is a model of education which was conceived in the United States in the year 2001. It is the short form for learnings in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. So when there is a thrust in these areas in any educational course and it is designed that way then the course falls under the STEM category. It started in US and then initially propagated to other countries like Australia, China, France, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Later, many other countries also started to include it as a project or on an experimental basis. The main idea behind STEM was to give a push to technological education in a holistic way which eventually would lead to technological progress in the world. Another reason for incorporating STEM in US was that it was found as the result of some studies that American students were underperforming in the above constituent subjects of STEM as compared to the students of other countries and it was a matter of worry for America as it wanted to keep its numero uno position in the world in the matters of technology and technological progress. That apprehension actually fuelled the growth of STEM education in the US.
In STEM education learning is done through a model approach about the concepts and phenomenons so that the student becomes knowledgeable for thinking innovatively and can realy contribute later in technological advances. Everything needs to be understood in practical terms so that understanding the concepts becomes primary rather the memorising or cramming a topic.
Another interesting thing about STEM techniques is that one need not pursue Post Graduation or research work after completing graduation as the person would be able to take up the job in the industry just after graduation only if he had undergone education in STEM mode.
Best course to impart STEM education in India would be to provide it from the elementary school level and then continue it up to graduation. That would prepare the great job force which is required in the industry at so many poitions. It is felt that the simple academic education educates the students but does not prepare them well skilled for the jobs in the industry and here where STEM is said would be removing this shortcoming from the educational system.
Many institutions in India are claiming that they are imparting the STEM mode of education in their engineering or science courses but until the student was having it from his primary level it is difficult to say how much it would be beneficial to learn it at that late stage. So we are going through a transitional state but sooner or later STEM would permeate our educational system which some people say is acquiring skill-based knowledge also.

    Knowledge is power.

  • STEM education is a new concept where the knowledge of aspirants are strengthened in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in such a way that they can think ahead apart from the curriculum being taught in their Institutions. This system stresses the need to be innovative in their areas of studies in these subjects.
Though we are having the colleges and institutions providing the aspirants inputs in the subjects mentioned above but they study these subjects in such a way that they can pass in these papers with high scores with the prescribed books of their syllabus but such a system does not make aspirants capable enough to think independently beyond their curriculum in solving such problems not indicated in their texts books but STEM would take care of this aspect providing them sufficient inputs to solve more complex questions easily.
STEM mode has been designed in such a way that aspirants need not go for higher degrees after graduating from this mode since this system is sufficient enough to make the students think in the different perspectives so that they could handle different complex issues. There would be great demands of such candidates having acquired the STEM mode education in solving existing problems in the industries due to the better versatilities of the candidates in this system.

  • STEM is the abbreviation of science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and education. It is a teaching philosophy in which all four disciplines work together into a single. At first, It was started in US. It is completely different from the traditional education system. It emphasizes collaboration, communication, research, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Some of the university which providing this course are as follows:-
    1. Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli
2.Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS) Bengaluru Autonomous Institute
    3. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru
    4. Osmania University Hyderabad
5.Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG) Navi Mumbai
    6. Central University of Kerala
    7. Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology Hyderabad.

  • The stem is the study of four major disciplines i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, but its distinctive features make it different from other degrees and courses because learning only science is not stem. The two most important parts among the STEM subjects are science and mathematics because the other two could be understood, only after having a deep understanding of the former ones. STEM not only focuses on the theoretical for but its main focus is to study interactively with the outside world. STEM tries to inculcate innovative skills in the candidate and learners of the discipline are supposed to be questioned and creatively finding the solution to that problem, rather than rotting the concepts. This not only develops their analytical skills but also enhances their abolition to apply the concepts they have learnt in the real world's problems. STEM education is cumbersome for many students because it requires a lot of hard work and mastery in all the subjects. The complexity of the subjects makes it difficult but there application in the real world also increases its fun.

  • STEM is instructing reasoning that incorporates every one of the four trains together into a solitary, cross-disciplinary program that offers guidance in genuine world (rather than simply scholarly) applications and educating strategies. The disciplines that STEM centers around are Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. While innovation and designing may seem like fun (I mean, who wouldn't have any desire to construct robots in class?) for a huge part of expected understudies, science and math are a lot of awful. Sadly, having the option to rapidly dominate these two subjects is a vital piece of doing admirably in STEM.
