  • You may take up the following steps for redressing your problem. The tips, according to my opinion, is as follows-
    1) Prior to commencement of any examination, admit cards are issued to each candidate with the incorporation of details such as name of the candidate, his father's name, Date of Birth, Roll No of the Candidate and the centre from where the aspirant would write the examination.
    2) Even if the school from where you have passed out is not existing, these details are enough to connect you to your mark - sheet memo.
    3) If you want immediate correction with your mark - sheet memo, visit the Board - office. Communication by means of letter would take its own time getting the procedure delayed.

  • The school in which you have studied your SSC no more exists. Is it a private school or a government school?
Generally, for any corrections in our certificates, we have to contact the school in which we passed that examination. But in your case, the school is not there now. In such a case. you have to get in touch with the board with all the details. You can apply online to some boards which are having the facility. Otherwise, you have to apply offline. I suggest you get in touch with the concerned board and explaining the work to be done.

You have to apply in writing for getting the mistake in the certificate corrected. You have to make an application in which you have to give the details of the mistake existing in the certificate and the correction needed. You have to attach your birth certificate in which your correct name is mentioned. If it is not available, you have to get an affidavit made and get the gazette publication as per the procedure. You can contact a lawyer in your area and explain the problem. He will suggest. Once you submit your application the board will do the needful and send you the corrected certificate.

  • As the school is closed I don't think you will get any help from the education department or the board under which the school was functioning erstwhile though you can try that option also by visiting the concerned office and explaining them all the details of the incorrect name as reflecting in your marksheet.
Another way is take your Aadhar card and other such credentials where your correct name is being reflected and then you visit a lawyer and ask him to make legal affidavit to mitigate this problem. A legal affidavit is a document which contains all the details of this mismatch of name between your other credentials and your marksheet. The document will also vouch that the marksheet belongs to you only as the name of your father on the marksheet is matching with the name of your father in other places so all the relevant documents will also form a part of the affidavit and for that the copies of same will have to be annexed with it. Once the affidavit is complete in all respects then you have to personally visit along with the lawyer to the magistrate in the court who will countersign this affidavit under his seal and you will also will have to sign in his presence and then the documents becomes final.
You can use this affidavit as a proof of your correct name and proof of the incorrect marksheet belonging to you only in all the places where you want to to use it like document verification or for interviews etc.

  • It seems to be a difficult one in your case as your school is not existing now, you can approach local government educational authorities for getting correction in your certificate. When you are going there you should take the following with you:
1.The school documents, any, whatever you possess.
    2.your present aadhaar card
3.any relevant document/s which has your name with correct spelling and surname.
There are chances to get your certificate corrected.
Alternatively, you can approach local advocate with notary who will prepare an affidavit with notary signature for such correction.

  • It is little bit difficult to change your name on the certificate as your school is not existing now. School play a very important role in making required changes in the educational certificate. In your case, you should contact the board office from where you got a certificate. You should give details regarding your problem to the board office. You should attach a birth certificate and other documents where the correct name is mentioned along with the application and submit it to the board office. If they don't accept this way and say that school approval is compulsory then another option is available through which you can try. Once you can visit the lawyer and tell him to make an affidavit. Your affidavit will solve all the problems because it is proof of an incorrect name in your mark sheet. It can be used anywhere for document verification or other purposes.
