  • This is a very common problem in many of the ladies these days.
If ovarian cysts are less than or about 5 centimetres in diameter chances of getting disappeared are more. You can wait. But at regular intervals, you have to get the Ultrasonography done for getting it checked. But in your case, you are telling that they are large. But you have not mentioned the size. If the size is bigger than mentioned it is to be removed. They may be removed by Laparoscopy or Laparotomy. In your case, you say that doctor has suggested the first one.
One should make a decision based on the size. I suggest you contact another famous doctor and take his/her opinion also. If you have a well-known doctor that will be always better. Some doctors suggest surgery unnecessarily. So I suggest you see a known doctor and take an opinion from him/her.
It is always advisable to take a second opinion and then go for the best cure.

  • It is very common in women to have a benign cyst in one of the ovaries. in most of the cases they remain like that and do not create any problem. Still there is an element of worriy because if their size increases much or they become malignant than that is a danger for the woman.
There are various types of ovarian cysts depending on their origin and growth but the most common type is when the egg is not released from the follicle during the menstrual cycle and it remains like that as a cyst in the ovary. These cysts generally go away with time as they get dissolved slowly and disintegrate away. They often don't have any symptoms also.
At the same time some cysts will have symptoms like pain in the back or abdominal swelling or nausea or pelvic inconveniences etc. and they may require medical intervention which doctor can decide after thorough examination.
Sometime the symptoms are so severe that they indicate towards a ruptured cyst and that is the condition when medical intervention becomes a must.
You will have to go for regular medical checkups regarding this condition as well as if you have any symptoms of pain, fatigue, bases, dizziness etc related to this disorder then you have to rush to doctor for the remedial measures.

    Knowledge is power.

  • If you have been suffering from benign cysts then there is no need to be worried regarding this. As it is a very common problem in women. We should be conscious regarding its size. If its size is less than 5 centimetres in diameter then it will disappear naturally. And if its size becomes bigger then it needs to be removed by Laparoscopy. You should get regularly checked up to detect how its size is increasing. Then, the doctor will treat it better. Generally, small size cyst never creates problems. One important thing is, whether a cyst will create a problem or not depends on the type of cyst. Some cyst is very harmful and creates a different problem which needs to be removed rapidly by surgery.
As mentioned above, your cyst is big but asymptomatic and not creating any kind of problem. So, when you feel problems like pain, dizziness and fatigue then you should go to a doctor for better treatment.

  • If you are suffering from the benign cyst, it will be better for you to have the gynaecological consultation to assess the possibility of its further growth though the cyst not very large( not exceeding 5 cm) does not need any medical attention since in case of most of women, the benign cyst dissolve on its own. This is one of the possibilities with 80 percent of the women but medical intervention would be required after the examination of pelvic by an experienced gynaecologist.
If the age group of ladies are above forty years, the doctors could recommend a surgery so that the cyst benign in nature does not transform into the cancerous form. There is the possibility of its rupture sometimes and hence a proper diagnosis is needed. The expert surgeon may carry out Pap Smear Test or may carry out the biopsy test to assess its severity. All you need to do is to cooperate the doctor so that you are not entrapped any problem.
Don't take it lightly that it would go away on its own with time.

  • You have not described the exact size of the cyst in your question, nor have you given information about your age, all this information is necessary. In general, in such problems, you may have to face some problems related to menstruation or discontinuity, but as you told that you are not facing any kind of problem but it has been revealed in your normal check sub, then you should take care of it. Don't be careless.
If you want, you can consult another doctor at once, sometimes the information can be wrong, otherwise, you start treatment. Don't waste too much time on this because this time can go ahead and take a formidable form. Sometimes a cyst is formed in some cases and also dissolves on its own but it depends on case to case.
If you do not want to resort to any kind of surgery, then you can also take the shame of homeopathy or Ayurveda. There are treatment methods in both Ayurveda and Homeopathy which help in dissolving the cysts, this treatment may be relatively long but as you mentioned you are not facing any problems then you can also opt for this option.
As far as laparoscopy is concerned, it is a minor surgery in which a small incision is made and operated on, followed by two or three stitches. It takes about 15 to 20 days to recover completely, during which you may have to abstain from eating and drinking.
Thus, this whole treatment process is dependent on the size of the cyst in your case and your age and other condition, so decide on that basis.
