  • Before I answer your doubt, I would like to know with which degree you have passed out finally. Is it a technical degree comprising 4 and 1/2 year or otherwise. If your degree is of technical nature such as BE or B.Tech from a premier institution, it would be acceptable to TCS. If your degree is a general degree taking so much time as stated by you, you will not be screened for the selection process of the graduate- engineers.
The following is the criteria for your eligibility for the further recruitment in TCS-
    1) The aspirant must have passed BE or an equivalent qualification with a minimum mark of 65 % in each semester while studying engineering irrespective of the branch selected for his continuation of studies.
    2) Selection committee would also evaluate your performance for class ten and twelve and in these stages also, you should have impressive scores at least 75 % marks in each stage. Though scorings in both the stages might be revised time to time, but the scores shown above is the threshold limit.
    3) As you have indicated that you have failed once in the intermediate stage but the same has been cleared later. In that situation, you are not likely to deprived of this opportunity since they would assess you in the different parameters during the selection- process. This would comprise your performance in the written test included in the selection procedure apart from your performance in the oral interview.
    4) They would assess you how far you are comfortable with the basics of the course materials apart from your general intelligence and your communication skills in course of interview.
Hence wipe out your doubts regarding the selection procedure and revise the course material to complete both and written and oral tests showing your exceptional abilities. Wish you all the best.

  • You didn't mention what was your subject in graduation. If you have completed your graduation in a technical subject then you are eligible for a TCS job. Other subjects are not allowed for TCS jobs. For joining TCS you should have BE or an equivalent qualification with a minimum mark of 65 % in each semester. Besides, your academic score from 10th up to engineering should be good. After seeing an overall performance in a written test followed by an interview you will be selected for a job. As you have stated that you have a career gap in intermediate and once you have failed in intermediate and next time you cleared your exam. So, no need to worry about this. There would not be any problem at the time selection. You will be mainly evaluated by performance in written as well as interview exams.

  • I hope you are a graduate Engineer. The duration of this course is 4 years and you have completed the course in 4 .5 years. But you have not mentioned your percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. If you are a science or commerce or Arts degree holder, you may not be considered for fresh recruitment as you have taken 4,5 years for course completion which is of only 3 years duration.
If you are a BE/BTech in any branch and if your percentage is above 70 only your candidature will be considered for the screening test. If you have any known friend or relative working in TCS, you can ask them to refer your CV to their HR department, the HR department will scrutinise your application and may arrange a written examination.
One time failing in intermediate may not have any say on your selection process. The selection process will have a written test, group discussion, Technical interview and HR intervies.

  • If you have a degree like BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech, or MCA then you can definitely apply in TCS. They generally take candidates from campus itself but they also take through merit cum interview. Every year they would be recruiting some engineers and computer persons for their work. The selection criterion is quite tough and competitive and one has to be in the merit to get selection. If you have a good GATE score then it could also be helpful for getting the position.
You can go to the official TCS website and find the recruitment drives for the year 2022. They have given all the details about the qualifying tests and other things that would be needed to be completed before seeking a position. One has to apply online in the TCS site and follow the instructions.
The next earliest qualifying exam for pan India positions is scheduled sometime in April 2022 and for that one has to register by 25th March 2022.
The general Eligibility Criteria for Freshers in TCS is as follows -
    1. Should be BE/ B.Tech (CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, ICE, IT, or Mechanical streams).
    2. Should be MCA with BSc/ BCA/ BCom/ BA (with Math/ Statistics Background).
    3. Should be MSc - CS, IT, SW.
    4. Should have a minimum of 75% from 10th standard onwards.
