  • These days some authorities are insisting on publication in the gazette if there is any change in the name. This process will have three steps.\
    1. Affidavit
    2. publication in newspapers
    3. Application for Gazette publication.

You have to contact a local advocate who can help you in this process.
Step1: Make an affidavit saying that there is a mistake in the name of your mother in your certificates. The advocate will help you in making the document and the procedure to be followed.
Step2: After making the affidavit an advertisement is to be released in two newspapers minimum. One should be an English newspaper and the other one is a local paper.
Step3: Then you have to make an application and attach a copy of the affidavit, paper advertisements and the required fee to be paid and submit to Gazzette for publication.

  • The affidavit certificate produced by you before the documents verification authority is not sufficient and you need to go beyond that to satisfy the authorities. This would require the following three steps-
    1) Affidavit
    2) Publication of the same in a leading English Newspaper in addition to the local newspaper of the area where you are residing.
    3) Application for Gadget Application.
The affidavit has to be issued by the Notary Magistrate with his signature in the right side of document and the same is drafted by your lawyer. This document would contain even your signature in the left corner of the document.
Once the affidavit is issued by the authorities, this has to be published in the leading English Newspaper apart from a local one so that it is known to all concerned.
Gadget Application is nothing but your application for publication of the same in the Gadget containing your affidavit, its paper advertisement and the requisite fee for this purpose is to be submitted to the appropriate authorities.

  • In your case, the mother's name is misprinted in those academic certificates and during document verification, it would not match. So, you have to go for a legal affidavit duly signed by the notary or magistrate and sealed with the date. The affidavit should bring out the mistake in the certificates and give the correct name of the mother. To give the proof of the correct name of your mother you would require to attach a copy of the Aadhar card with the affidavit and then that becomes an effective document. So, there is no name change in your mother's name and it is only a typing or printing mistake. This correction has to bring out in the local newspaper by making an announcement in this regard as per the official procedure and the same is to be mentioned in Gadget of India as a correction in the name. Once these formalities are over then keep a copy of all the documents with you and produce them at the time of document verification.
It would not be convenient to get all these things done yourself so you can hire the services of an agent or lawyer who can get everything done in a streamlined way and you would not lose any unnecessary time in that. These procedures are laid down by the Govt to avoid any misuse of the educational documents by any evil element in the society and whenever there is a correction of name this procedure has to be adopted. The process might look cumbersome but if you take the help of a person who is well versed in these jobs, as an agent, then it would be done smoothly.

  • Only affidavit certificate will not fulfil your demand. You need to do some required steps for correction in your mother's name which are as follows:-
    1. Affidavit
    2. publication in newspapers
    3. Application for Gazette publication.
legal affidavit should be duly signed by the notary or magistrate and sealed with the date. Affidavit will show the mistake in the certificates and give the correct name of the mother. Next to it, you attach a copy of aadhar card with it. To give the proof of the correct name of your mother you need to attach a copy of the Aadhar card with it.
After issuing affidavit by the authorities, this has to be published in the leading English Newspaper as well as local newspaper which are known to all. Next step is, same is to be mentioned in Gadget of India for correction of name. After completing all steps, try to keep a copy of all the documents safe and produce them at the time of document verification. It is not easy process, so it would be better to take help from agents of this field.

  • You need to give an affidavit for the same. You need to produce proof of the real name of your mother. also, you can use your real brother or real sisters certificates if they also studied in the same Board or University or Institute. You can show them the name of your mother.

Contact your school administration where you completed your studies and they will help you to solve the issue. The best way; you need to find any known person who works with the board or university otherwise it may take a long time.
