What to do if BIOS error is shown while starting the PC

BIOS is Basic Input Output System. It is responsible to start up the computer and so it checks all the factors needed for starting. When it comes across some error it notifies the error by an alert.
The error can be in hardware as well as software. Some of them are automatically rectified by the inbuilt remedial features. Some may need manual technical intervention.

However the most common BIOS error that is seen is due to the failure of the motherboard battery-CMOS battery. As you have not used your PC for long time, the battery would have lost its charge. So you may need to put a new CMOS battery.
This may not need a high technical efficiency. If you can open the computer and without disturbing the system if you can locate the CMOS battery. It is a round button type one and can be located easily. Taking care to observe how it is placed you can remove it carefully without harming other nearby pats and replace it with a new CMOS battery.
Generally this should solve your problem.

BIOS signifies basic input output system and in course of operation, we might come across some errors causing PC nonfunctional. Let us analyse the different situations which would result in non starting of PC. The following points could be helpful in fixing the errors-
1) Restoration of the default settings - While operating the computer, we should press the key continuously so that it would restore default settings. On the screen, we might notice hints for pressing the exact key. If the right key is pressed, BIOS would start its working.
Once it starts, we should select the default option with the pressing of key F9. For the restoration of BIOS, we should click - yes. Even the security buttons could be reset.
2) Clear BIOS - 1) This can be done by putting off the device attached to the computer.
2) Let us detach the device attached externally to the computer.
3). We should disconnect the power cord from AC Power Source.
4) Case cover is to be removed.
3) Location of the Battery- We should make an effort to locate the battery of the motherboard where the battery would appear round type housed in the holder. If the battery is exhausted, let us change the same.
