So far as admission is concerned, before taking admission, please visit the website of the university (https://tnou.ac.in/) and ensure whether the particular course chosen by you is being offered by the university, or not. Take admission directly. Please do not take admission via any non-recognized coaching/study centre.

Since the degree for which they would like to pursue is well recognised through UGC, they would not encounter any difficulties in terms of recognition of their courses.
However, it would be better on the part of aspirants to look into the details of their chosen course to examine its validity of the selected course and they should ensure that the same is included in the approved list of UGC.

  • Tamil Nadu Open University offers distance education courses in many streams and subjects to eligible candidates. It is approved by UGC and to that extent, there is no problem with going for a degree from this open University. However, it would be prudent to check the exact course and its availability on the university site (https://tnou.ac.in). You can go through the details of offered courses and any conditions or limitations on them by the statutory authorities. When you visit that site then on the top horizontal menu there will be an item 'Self Disclosures' by clicking on it you will find the 'UGC' tab and can check some vital details by selecting and clicking on that.
