  • Completing B.Pharma. course without attending classes

Want to complete a B.Pharma course in India without actually attending classes? Know if there are colleges that offer such a degree program.

I want to know whether a student in India can complete a B.Pharma course without attending the actual classes and I can complete the course on clearing the exam. Is there any college in India that allows such a program with non-attendance to take a non-medical degree like B.Pharma?

  • No university is offering a B.Pharma in distance mode. No open university including IGNOU is not offering this course in distance mode. As per the guidelines given by the UGC,, B. Pharma course is to be offered only in regular mode and you have to attend classes.
As per the Pharmacy Council of India guidelines also any course in Pharma field starting from Under graduate course to PhD, one should do it in regular mode only.
There may be some private colleges, who may not insist on full attendance but they also can't manage without attending even for some classes. There will be practical classes and examinations which are to be carried out by the student personally by attending the labs.
So you can't get B.Pharna certificate without attending the college. legally.

  • Under the current situation, it is rather difficult to complete B.Pharma in the distance mode. This is applicable for all sorts of distance mode including IGNOU. You must satisfy the eligibility conditions of undertaking such a course and that is one has to fulfil eligibility criteria of UGC with the adherence of the same in the regular mode. You have to follow the conditions required for the continuation of the said course according to UG C norm where the aspirants are needed to attend the regular class with the fulfilment of coverage of the class as stated in the guide line.
The same conditions will hold good for undergraduates to post graduate classes and also for Ph.D courses.
Some private universities can provide you some sort of relaxation depending upon the university where you are currently undertaking this course. Regarding the practical session and also for the theoretical classes, you need to follow the instructions as required by them.
This condition states that at all the costs, you need to follow the guidelines as required for this course.

  • The pharmacy course is having invariably a component of practical training and without that it cannot be accepted as completed. In analogy it is like doing a MBBS course and we all know that doing MBBS through a distance course is not a possibility as on today.
One should be careful with the fake institutions which claim to provide all sort of courses online and give a certificate of completion also but the student ultimately finds that it is not valid. So in such a situation it is necessary that before joining any such course in an institution we should confirm its credentials by visiting the UGC site and ascertain the details beforehand.
It is obvious that one should do the pharmacy course from a recognised college so that the degree attained can be fruitfully utilised in making a career in pharma industry.
