  • Is the dual degree offered by nmims accredited abroad?

Are you planning for higher studies abroad? Do you want to know the dual degree course of B Pharma and MBA is recognized abroad? Follow this thread to know the details.

Is the integrated dual degree of B Pharma + MBA (pharma tech) recognized abroad? Can I easily get admission for the M Pharm course after that or would it create a problem as it is not a proper 4 years program? Is work experience required after the dual degree for studying abroad?

  • I. If you want to do an M.Pharm after your B.Pharm, you need not think of doing this integrated dual degree course. You can do B. Pharm in any reputed university and then apply for M. Pharm. Based on your performance in the examinations and other requirements you may get a seat in M. Pharm. At the same time people who did this
integrated course also can obtain a seat in M. Pharm abroad.
    2. But this B Pharma + MBA (pharma tech) course is a very good course for the people who want to join the pharma industry after completing the course.
This course is having the following specialities.
    1. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students who completed this course can be useful to the Pharma industry and research establishments.
    2. The students will have good interaction with top Pharma Industry executives and their lectures will be arranged for the benefit of the students.
    3. Many case studies and issues related to the industry will be discussed so that the students will have more practical shop floor experiences than theoretical knowledge.
    4. Students will be given technical training during studies in reputed MNCs and other related industries.
    5. The students coming out after this course will have both technical as well as managerial capabilities.
So many people prefer this course. But the intake is only 100 and getting a seat may be a tough issue.

  • The overall learning of the dual course B. Pharma coupled with MBA ( Pharma Tech) is not very encouraging but at the same time not bad either for the offers the aspirants being placed with around 8 lacks from some employers from the Pharma Industries. However, there could be fierce competitions in grabbing the jobs due to congregation of better qualified management aspirants from SP Jain, XLRI, IIM's etc showing their better skills in the interviews and so they are comfortably placed with the perks as demanded by them. This could prove to be disappointing part for some of the aspirants having acquired this duel degree.
However MBA curriculum being part of the dual course could be considered the best due to the following points-
    1) During the orientation session, the aspirants would be shown the very rosy picture but later it would be learnt that it was merely a hogwash. The recruiters might offer an average package of approximately Rs Four lakhs Fifty thousands only where as a few would be around Rs Eight Lacks. The best part is that there could be placements of around 90% of the aspirants.
    2) There could be constant pressure from the side of the management to get your project published in the journal immediately but that is not easy either. The management could harass the students for the delayed publication of the projects. However, the situation could be managed with your regular interactions with the faculties.
    3) There is a lot of unnecessary power assigned to a few professors making the lives of the students hell. They could approve your projects very late if the candidates fail to convince the faculties. However, the faculties have to maintain higher placement records and hence the management tries its best to invite maximum number of recruiters to achieve best figures of placements.
