  • How to track a Court case online

Want to check the status of a court case after the hearing shifted to another location? Know through expert guidance if you can track the status online.

There is a divorce case in Court. After the second hearing, there was a location change applied through the High court. Now without contacting the lawyer, how do I track the status of this case? Would it be possible to track it online? If yes, let me know the step-by-step procedure. Since I have a CSE engineering background, I understand web apps so would be ab to understand if you let me know of any app also that could help to track the status.

  • There is a Govt site in internet (https://services.ecourts.gov.in) where one can find and check the status of the court cases. Every court case has a unique 16 digit alphanumeric identity number known as CNR number. One has to enter this number in the search box provided in the site. That will open that case and its details on the screen.
In case CNR number is not available then one will have to use keywords or related strings of the words in the search menu and though it might require a few trial and errors but it would also finally depict that case.
For searching a case there are some steps given in the site where one has to select state, district, court etc and then finally pinpoint the case. This is a modular site and is well made from the point of view of the user.
