  • There is age relaxation for the divorced women belonging to the general category also in IBPS and SBI posts.
A divorced woman, A widow or a woman who legally separated from her husband belonging to all categories will have a relaxation in the upper age. A 9 years exemption from the prescribed age limit.
28 years is the maximum age for a candidate to apply for a post in IBPS for a general category candidate. As per their notification, the maximum age limit allowed for a divorced woman from the general category will be 37 years.
This exemption is applicable only to women who should not have remarried before applying for the exam.

  • There are age relaxations for the divorced (as well as widowed) women who have not remarried. These relaxations are across a variety of services like banking, Railways, Post Office, SSC-CGL etc.
Depending upon the category of the woman whether she belongs to general or SC/ST or OBC these exemptions vary.
For example in banking sector these women will get an age relaxation of 9 years over the maximum age limit prescribed for those vacancies.
In Govt or PSU departments for the posts of Assistant grade or subordinate services or positions in Indian Railway they get exemption as per their category. So the age limit in case of widows or divorced women and women who have not remarried shall be relaxed up to 35 years for unreserved, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates respectively.
