  • A query related to JEE

Do you have a doubt about the number of attempts you can make for JEE if you opt to write the qualifying exam once again after having been disqualified in your earlier attempt? Follow this thread for details.

I gave my CBSE board this year and have filled the form for JEE but wasn't qualified for JEE advance. That means one attempt for JEE advance is over for me now (according to JEE criteria).
My query is whether I will get another two attempts for JEE advance if I give my board exams once again? Please clarify.

  • A person will have two chances after clearing the board examination. One should appear in the year in which he passed the 12th class and the next year also you can attend. If you fail to attend immediately next year, you will not be given another chance.
If you give the board examination again and get a new certificate, with that certificate you can appear two times, Again you will get two chances. One in the year of passing and the second in the immediate next year.

  • Hope that you will try your best to clear the JEE advance with your total involvement and dedication. Hope you are taking every care to sail through this tough test with your total involvement. Never mind that you have already lost one chance in the past. What you you are writing down is not an unusual confession. But with sheer determination, they clear JEE Advanced in the second time and so I advise you not to loose heart.
Try to get your enrolled in Allen's classes, Byju's or any prominent institution where you can resolve your doubts by way of your preparation. Mock tests included in their programmes would help you better to know where you stand.
Your planning to undertake a fresh examination of class 12 Board from the different rout would enable to appear for consecutive attempts two times but it would amount to your precious timing and which I think, you, too, understand this.
Wish you all the best for the next JEE Advanced Examination.

  • A student who is appearing in the final exam of class 12 can also appear in JEE that year itself subject to his qualifying in the class 12 exam as per JEE eligibility criteria. If he does not qualify in JEE in first attempt then he gets one more chance next year. Many students who prepare well for JEE as well as for their class 12 exam stand good chance of qualifying in JEE.
As there is tough competition many students do not get success and then try the second attempt of JEE.
Giving a class 12 exam again and then trying for JEE is alright as that is admissible but one loses a number of precious prime age years and please remember that it is the crucial time for making a career line in acquiring higher education. So, the option of doing class 12 again and appearing in JEE is open to you but it would always be wiser to achieve these things as early as possible. Making it late means you forget many things studied earlier and unnecessary repeat them for memorising them again. Gaining additional time is of no avail if additional preparation is not done.

  • According to NTA, Candidates will have two chances after clearing their class 12 board exam. First, they should be appearing for the exam on which year they passed class 12 board exam. And they can appear for the same just next year. As mentioned above, you did not qualify this year and you are going to repeat class 12 board exam once again. So, you are eligible for two attempt with new certificate. As per my suggestion it would not be prudent decision to repeat class12th because it is the killing of time. There are many other reputed Institute where you can apply for further degree. Finally, everybody motto is to get good job. If you study well during B. tech degree then you can also establish yourself in big companies. If you now waste your time in taking degree then afterwards your age may lapse in job time. So, you should take decision wisely. All the best for the next JEE Advanced Examination.
