  • Doubt about NOC after selection

Need clarity about NOC after selection for PSU? Get your doubts cleared through expert suggestions.

I applied for PSU 1(Indian military academy-IMA civilian post) in December, and after declaring the results they called for a skill test(still DV, and an appointment has to be made) in March of next year and in the same month I applied for another PSU 2( higher level job compared to IMA). Here are my doubts about the following scenarios-

    1. As I applied before the selection do I really need NOC to join in PSU 2(if I got selected)

    2. what if the results of PSU 2 were declared just after the joining of PSU 1(IMA), how can I ask for NOC? What is the proper channel(please explain in brief)

    3. If they denied to give NOC, what should I do, and to whom I should approach(in case of IMA ). Please explain the detailed procedure to get NOC please.

    4. What are the other ways to get into PSU 2 at any cost. Without any big problems from PSU 1(IMA)

  • You don't require a NOC for joining the post for which you applied before joining the present job. In your case, you have not joined any job at the time of application and hence there will not be any NOC requirement from the employer.
But before getting the offer from the second employer if you join the first employer's job, you have to resign there and join a new one. You have to fulfil all the requirements for getting released from the job. So, you have to take care of those conditions.
Please remember that without getting relieving letter from the present employer, you should not join the new job. If there is any delay in getting the relieving letter, you should inform the new employer about the delay and should take time to submit the relieving letter after joining the new job.

  • Hi,
I am not so expert in these questions but collected from a few of my old friends and through online following would definitely help you to understand your queries.

In most cases, if you have applied for a PSU 2 job after applying for a PSU 1 job, and you have not yet received an offer or joined the PSU 1 job, you may not need an NOC (No Objection Certificate) to join PSU 2 if you get selected. However, this may depend on the specific rules and policies of the PSU 2 organization you are applying to. It is always best to check with the organization or the recruitment agency for specific guidance on NOC requirements.

If you have already received an offer for the PSU 1 job and have joined or are in the process of joining, then you may need to obtain an NOC from the PSU 1 organization to join the PSU 2 job. This is because you may have signed an agreement or contract with the PSU 1 organization, which may include clauses related to leaving the organization before a certain period or without prior permission.

Therefore, it is always best to check with the organizations or recruitment agencies for specific guidance on NOC requirements and any other rules and policies that may affect your eligibility for the PSU 2 job.

    For your second query:
If the results of PSU 2 are declared after you have joined PSU 1 (IMA), and you have been offered the PSU 2 job, you may need to obtain an NOC from PSU 1 to join PSU 2, even if you have not completed your training or probation period.

To request an NOC, you should write a formal letter to your immediate supervisor or the HR department of PSU 1. In the letter, you should explain your situation and the reasons why you are requesting an NOC to join PSU 2. You should also provide any relevant documents, such as the offer letter from PSU 2, and any other information that may be required by PSU 1.

It is important to note that PSU 1 may have specific rules and policies regarding NOC requests. Therefore, it is always best to check with your immediate supervisor or the HR department for guidance on the proper channel to request an NOC and any other procedures or requirements that may be involved.

Once you have obtained the NOC, you can proceed with joining PSU 2. It is also important to ensure that you comply with any other terms and conditions set forth by PSU 1 regarding your resignation and joining another organization.

    For your third query:
If PSU 1 (IMA) denies your request for an NOC, you may still be able to join PSU 2, but the process may be more complicated. Here are the steps you can take in this scenario:

Review the terms of your contract with PSU 1: Before taking any further steps, review the terms and conditions of your contract with PSU 1, particularly any clauses related to leaving the organization or joining another organization. This will help you understand your rights and responsibilities and may also provide some guidance on what steps you can take.

Understand the reasons for the denial: If PSU 1 denies your request for an NOC, try to understand the reasons for the denial. If there are specific clauses in your contract that prohibit you from joining another organization or leaving before a certain period, this may be the reason. If the denial is based on other factors, such as performance or conduct, try to address those concerns directly with PSU 1.

Consult with a legal expert: If you are unable to resolve the situation with PSU 1, you may want to consult with a legal expert who specializes in employment law. They can provide you with guidance on your rights and the legal options available to you.

Consider alternative options: If joining PSU 2 is not possible due to the denial of an NOC from PSU 1, you may want to consider alternative options, such as finding a job in a different organization or industry that is not subject to similar restrictions.

In terms of the detailed procedure for obtaining an NOC, it may vary depending on the specific rules and policies of PSU 1. Generally, you should follow these steps:

Write a formal letter requesting an NOC to join PSU 2, explaining your situation and the reasons for the request.

Submit the letter to your immediate supervisor or the HR department of PSU 1.

Provide any relevant documents, such as the offer letter from PSU 2, and any other information that may be required by PSU 1.

Wait for a response from PSU 1. If the request is approved, you should receive the NOC within a specified time frame. If the request is denied, PSU 1 should provide you with the reasons for the denial.

    And for your fourth query:
If you are unable to obtain an NOC from PSU 1 (IMA), there are still some ways you may be able to join PSU 2. Here are a few options to consider:

Check the terms of your contract with PSU 1: Before taking any further steps, carefully review the terms of your contract with PSU 1. Look for any clauses related to leaving the organization or joining another organization. If there are specific clauses that prohibit you from joining another organization or leaving before a certain period, this may limit your options.

Look for alternative positions within PSU 2: If you are interested in working for PSU 2, consider other positions that may be available within the organization. If you have skills or experience that are in demand, you may be able to find an alternative position that does not require an NOC from PSU 1.

Apply for positions in other organizations: If you are unable to join PSU 2, consider other job opportunities in other organizations. Look for positions that match your skills and experience, and apply for them. While it may not be your first choice, it is important to keep an open mind and explore all of your options.

Consult with a legal expert: If you believe that PSU 1 is unfairly denying your request for an NOC, you may want to consult with a legal expert who specializes in employment law. They can provide you with guidance on your rights and the legal options available to you.

It is important to remember that the process of obtaining an NOC can be complex and may vary depending on the specific rules and policies of the organization. If you are unable to obtain an NOC from PSU 1, it is important to explore all of your options and make an informed decision based on your individual circumstances.

  • 1. As you have applied for PSU 2 before the selection of PSU 1, you don't need an NOC to join PSU 2 if you get selected. However, it is always advisable to inform your current employer about your job application elsewhere.

    2. If the results of PSU 2 are declared just after joining PSU 1, you can still ask for an NOC from your current employer to join PSU 2. The proper channel to apply for an NOC is to submit a written application to your immediate supervisor or HR department requesting an NOC. Once you receive the NOC, you can submit it to the PSU 2 for further processing.

    3. If your current employer denies giving you an NOC, you can approach the concerned authority in your organisation, such as the head of the department or HR department, to request reconsideration. In case of IMA, you can approach the Commandant or Administrative Officer to request an NOC. If the request is still denied, you may have to continue with your current job or try for other job opportunities.

    4. If you are not able to get an NOC from your current employer and you still want to join PSU 2, you may have to resign from your current job and then apply for PSU 2. However, resigning from your job may have financial and other implications, and you should carefully consider all the factors before taking such a step. It is also advisable to check the rules and regulations of your current employer regarding resignation and notice period.
