Though this thread appears to be more suited to 'ask expert' section but I am responding here only as editors have not shifted it to that section. The actuarial science subject basically deals with investment and financial services , life insurance , health insurance , general insurance and employee retirement and benefit plans etc. So subjects like mathematics, statistics, economics etc. are relevant to this course. The eligibility criteria set by the Institute of Actuaries of India(IAI) for their student membership is 10+2 with English as one of the subjects only. One should target for at least 85% at 10+2 level with mathematics / statistics as subjects besides English. Completing graduate or post graduate courses in maths / stats / economics etc. should be considered.
