Do you know any song from Hindi or native language that speaks about food items?

    Members,
Do you know any song from Hindi or your native language that speaks about food items? There is a good old Tamil song "Kalyana Samayal Saatham.. Kaai karigalum prammadam... Intha kaurava prasadam,...ithuve enakku pothum............. The entire songs goes on talking about various food items like rice, sambhar, puliotharai, puri, bhaji, laddu, jilebi etc. The above song is sung by the character Katotgaj, when he visits the kitchen area of Kaurava's palace where a marriage was conducted. He eats the whole items prepared for the function , and leaves nothing for the guests and hosts to eat.

Do you know any such song in Hindi or English or your native language or in any other language?

    Kailash,
You have given the list of songs that contain only one food item. Like that there are varieties of songs in any language. What I said is a song containing full of food items. Can you quote one such song from Hindi or elsewhere.

An evergreen super duper hit Telugu movie named Maya Bazaar released in 1957, directed by K.V.Reddy and produced by B.Nagi Reddy and A. Chakrapani.

There is an all-time hit song in the movie picturized on the mythological character 'Ghatotkcha'. The song has become so popular that in every food / food feast scene/s in Telugu movies, the tune of this song is played as a background.

    The song goes like this:
Vivaha bhojanambu (wedding feast) vintaina vantakambu
    viyyaalavaari vindu ohhoho naake mundu
ahhaha haha haha ahha haha haha ahahha haaaahaahaa

auroura gaarelalla (vada with a hole in the center) ayyaare boorelilla (a sweet stuffed round balls)
ohoho ariselulla ('arise' pronunciation - 'a' is pronounced as in 'art', 'ri' as in 'ring' and 'se' as in 'set'. This is a flattened sweet made of rice flour and jaggery) ahaahaa ahaahaa
    iyella naake chella

bhaleere laddu landu bhaksheni boni indu
    bhale jilaabi mundu ahhahahhahahha
    iyella naake vindu

majhaare appadaalu (pappad) pulihora (tamarind rice) dappalaalu
    vahwaare paayasaalu (kheer) ahaa haahaahaa
    iyella naake chaalu

The picture was even released in Tamil version in the same year.

    Kalyani,
Good. What you said in Telugu was said in Tamil. You are from Telugu Maya Bazaar, and mine from Tamil Maya Bazaar. I don't know what came first, Tamil or Telugu.

That was a bilingual movie and Telugu version was released on March 27, 1957 while Tamil version was released on April 12, 1957. The film was a super hit in both the languages. and later dubbed in Kannada language as well.

Yet another song with full of food items in another Telugu old hit movie 'Pelli Pustakam' of Bapu-Mullapudi combination.

Mentioning only the lines / stanzas that have food items and not the full song as its a too lengthy song.

    Annam neyyi vedi annam kachinneyyi
Vedi vedi annam mida, kammani pappu kachinneyyi
    Pappu dappalam kalipi kottadam
Bhojanam vana bhojanam, vana bhojanam jana ranjanam

Masala garelo ma ma, jilebi badusha pa pa
Samosa teesuko da da, potato chipstho na ni
Mithayi kavure ae, pakodi tinduva pa pa
Malayi perugu idi ma ma, tomato chutney tho da da
Pasandu poornamu bu ri, nanjhuko karappu sa
Asalaina sisalaina, andhrathwa trade mark, mirapakayala bajji koriki chudu
Gongura pacchadi, goddu karapu mudda, minapattu mukkatho mingi chudu
Ullipayala madhya, allammu challina, pesarattu upma tho mesavi chudu
Gasagasal miriyalu, karala vangaalu, naanyamou yalakulu, namili chudu
Telugu tanam unna tindini tinnavaadu, tanaku teliyaka hayiga tanuvu ooga
