    If I were not there…..

I was going through some inspirational quotes and my eyes got stuck somewhere. Sun asked Nature and its surroundings during Sunset – "Who will work in my absence?" Nobody dared to respond. But a Candle slowly whispered, "I will try my best".

A small whisper broke the silence. Everyone was surprised but felt happy to hear that someone made an attempt to show the light amid possible darkness. Yes, it is not the matter how small we are with reference to size or status but the determination and attitude that counts. Those who have the will to do or progress will definitely shine!

Wow what a inspiration thread and wonderful quoted appended there in which speaks about our real life challenges and we just ponder over for every problem. By the way the guts and gusto of the candle must be appreciated and I thought the moon would give the probable reply. But again I thought that due to his periodic changing of size , the moon cannot assure total light and compensate the sun's absence. Therefore candle taking the lead and coming forward with its earnest possible way was really appreciative and that attitude gave me further fillip in my life also and I have decided what ever small help I can I shall proceed whether people would accept or not. What I mean to say here that there should not be a feeling of vacuum being created when some one is absent for that the work should not stop ?

Fantastic message conveyed in a simple, straight narration.

Thumbs up. Nothing more to add as I do not want to corrupt the purity in it.

These lines are really very much inspirational.
No matter of what the condition are how much worst situations are trying to rise at your best level is the most important thing
Same goes for the candle in the story despite of its size its work is big ,its trying is big hence its worth is big.
And same goes for the story it is short its meaning is simple but infinite to understand.

..... someone else will fill in for me!

    Nobody is indispensable.

Kudos for the motivational & inspirational thread, Jagdish!

A man should be motivated by seeing graphite because a graphite had a tendency to convert into diamond under tremendous temperature and pressure. We should not underestimate anybody that tells this quote.

More than the candle, I would recommend a match stick which is required to light up the candle. Sun acts independently but not the candle that requires some other elements to have it lit. A match stick is much smaller than a candle.
So, A match stick would have said " I will try my best. "

    No life without Sun

Candle lights its surroundings, at the cost of its own life. The supreme sacrifice of the candle for lighting others life has no parallel.
Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.

A beautiful and pure thought! I was really touched by the innocence of the concept and the way it has been presented. It is not the size, ability or status that stands out, it is the confidence and willingness that is protruding. I am not sure whether the question by Sun was an exhibition of his power or a genuine concern; whatever it may be, the reply by the candle was apt in either way. This thread is a reminder that no one is indispensable; there may be difference in effect but nevertheless as the old saying goes, 'the show must go on'!

This thread is indeed beautiful, a light in itself.

It brought back to mind an interesting activity we had in school. Our English teacher told us to form groups and gave each group a candle. We were told to light it, sit around with it in the centre, just look at it for about 10 minutes and then all of us had to express our thoughts about it. Next day, we were told to write about a candle, an essay or story or anything we wished. What I & others realized was that the teardrop shape of the candle's flame has got slight shades to its hue. Further, when the candle slowly peters out and drips its wax, it forms a strong base on which another candle can be placed. Finally, the second candle is invariably lighted by the dying flame of the first one. So, essentially, the flame remains forever bright.

If I were not there, here at ISC as ME, I hope to pass on a little of my flame to the next in line & going upstairs humbly request the One up there to continue to shower His blessings down below so that the ISC flame burns ever bright.

If I were not there, around in this world, I would likely be a garlanded photo in a frame!!

It was a question ran in every crickete lovers mind at the end of the great Sunil Gavaskar career, who will take his place? At that point of time it was not a million but trillion Dollar question. Yes, the Indian cricket team struggle few years but after the arrival of likes Sachin, Dravid, and some more talented batsman, we never ask this question back.

It is a nature's rule if one is not there, their place will be filled by others. We had the great politician but still our country is running without them. So, if anyone who think that they are the supreme and without them any work will suffer, they are the world's biggest fool.

Just trust the nature, the vacuum will be filled automatically.
