Lata Mangeshkar was the golden voice of light music (mainly film-songs) during fifties, sixties, seventies and eighties. But the great singer's voice started deteriorating due to her age since mid-nineties. Since then she has drastically reduced (almost stopped singing new songs) her performance. She has sung in many Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil and Punjabi. Besides film-songs, she has also sung 'bhajans' and non-filmi songs.
On the other hand, Anuradha Paudhiyal shot into limelight during eighties due to her extreme melodious voice. Later she shifted to devotional music during nineties. Nowadays she has also stopped singing.
Shreya Ghoshal is the product of Zee TV's SaReGaMa during early days of 21st century. Her voice is melodious and she has adapted well to the changing requirements of Hindi and Bengali film music. But she has a long way to go.
