IAF Brahmos Missiles in 40 Sukhoi Fighter aircraft makes India strong in air!

After having gone through so many field tests and also authentication from the Russian Defence experts, the government gave nod to integrate the Brahmos missiles with 40 Sukhoi air crafts and thus make Indian Air Force much formidable in guarding our skies from external forces. This news may send shivers to our neighbours who think India can be wood winked with their wicked plans to destabilise the country with series of terror attacks and now our IAF is greatly prepared to strike from air in the event of any terror attack.

Brahmos missiles are long-range missiles developed in India with a collaboration from Russia. Brahmos missiles were tested and found to be successful. The product is tested for different climatic conditions and the results are found to be encouraging. Recently they have tested the full missile and the results are very encouraging. With this success, the Indian Air Force accepted for integrating this missile with 40 Sukhoi air crafts. As expressed by Mohan this missile is a feather in the cap of Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation. It will make Indian Air Force a formidable force. India will be more safe with this missile in their ormamaments group. A good addition.

Sometimes the ground reality may be different from what we hear or what is being projected. Definitely we are proud of our strategic forces and our weapon systems. But I am afraid the news that is being neglected about the air crashes of IAF helicopters and loss of death/ causing injuries. We have to strengthen our operational sector and the overhauling activities carried out by HAL and other agencies.

Yes Jagdish you have raised valid point and surely revamping at HAL must be on priority.

Glad to hear that the indigenous Brahmos missile is being fitted to the 40 Sukhoi combat aircrafts. I don't think it would send shivers down our neighbours as those familiar in the military circles know that our current air power is relying only on MIG 29s. According to estimates for the senior air force officials, we need around 200-250 aircrafts to keep our borders safe and be able to respond to a challenge. These aircrafts are expensive and we need a huge defence outlay to ensure that we can upgrade and strengthen our air superiority. As Mr Jagadish has pointed out, there have been regular reports of copter crashes and maintenance issues. India has a strong partnership with Russia for the MIG29 and Sukhoi 30 combat planes, hope the Rafale deal with France does sour the relationships with Russia.
