Do you avail AYUSH, the alternative systems of medical treatment?

AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy which comes under the Department of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy (ISM&H) functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Sowa Rigpa the traditional Tibetan medicine is also covered under AYUSH.

Professional councils like the Central Council of Homoeopathy Medicine (CCH), Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Central Council of Sowarigpa (Tibetan) Medicine (CCTM) and Central Council of Naturopathy Medicine (CCNM) also function under AYUSH.

In certain cases, if the English medicine is not working properly on our body, we prefer to use Ayurveda and Yoga which refreshes our mind and body. There are people who practice invalid treatments which harm the body. Most of the people who live in rural villages will use these kinds of treatments and sometimes it can lead to death.

My father was working in an Ayurvedic medicines manufacturing company and the Managing Director is an Ayurveda Specialist. So we have the habit of using Ayurveda medicines from our childhood. We will not go to the Allopathic doctor many times. If it is absolutely a necessity only we will go there.
My father's brother was a homoeopathy practitioner. He s\prescribes homoeo medicines for chronic diseases also. Many people got cured under his treatment. So sometimes we use those medicines also. But Naturopathy I never used so far.

I think those who are central government servants, they get the health benefits cards though which AYUSH can be availed, but we are having ESI cards and the state government provides us the medicines for free and no Ayush as of now.

Yes, certainly these are the good medical practice. There are many diseases which cannot be cure by allopathy but good treatment is available for these type of diseases in Ayurveda or Homoeopathy system. The daughter of one of my colleagues had the hole in the heart many years ago and the allopathic doctor told him not to marry since she cannot survive more years. But Ayurvedic Vaidhya Ji treated her and she has two children and is living a good life. My brother had slip disc (one hand not functioning due to slip disc) and allopathic doctors suggested to operate but no guarantee of 100 % success of operation but similarly Vaidhya Raj Ji in Thane treated him and now can work with both hand.
So, there are many examples which reveal that AYUSH is the good alternative of allopathy and also do not have any side effects. The medicines of AYUSH are purely natural and obtained from trees.

    Honesty is the best policy.

Deptt. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has developed and marketed many useful Ayurvedic and Unani products. But frankly speaking, the marketing of these products is not at all satisfactory. Most of the people of the country don't know about the products of AYUSH. The outlets of the Department are also very few and mostly confined to Delhi. So, unfortunately, instead of taking the clinically-tested products of AYUSH, those who trust Ayurvedic medicines, go for unreliable products of unreliable companies.
Beware! I question everything and everybody.

As a matter of fact, most of us sometimes try 'dadi maa ke nuskhe' ( household remedies) also in addition to allopathic and AYUSH system e.g. in case of preliminary stages of cough and cold.
Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.
