    1. Generally, most of the ASOs are allotted Central Secretariat Service (CSS).
    2. Under normal circumstances, CSS Officers are posted in various Ministries/Departments/Offices of Central Govt. within Delhi.
    3. A CSS Officer can rise upto the level of Joint Secretary. In some exceptional cases CSS Officers joining as Section Officer has risen upto the level of Additional Secretary.
    4. Appointment in CSS is generally at three levels, as LDC, as Assistant and as Section Officer.
    5. A CSS Officer generally gets invaluable experience in different Ministries.
    6. However, CSS Officers have to work under the overall supervision of IAS Officers.
    7. Because of their varied and invaluable experience, many CSS Officers continue working in different Central Govt, offices even after retirement.
    8. Permanent posting within Delhi gives stability and mental peace in the personal life of CSS Officers.

Beware! I question everything and everybody.

It is advisable to write the full form instead of giving the abbreviation. S.S.C. stands for Staff Selection Commission. C.G.L. stands for Combined Graduate Level examination.
