    Dear Members,
On 15th August, Independence day, You all must have heard the speech of PM Modi from the rampart of Red Fort. It was a 80 minutes speech. From the speech you heard, can you tell me the essence of his speech that is beneficial to the public of republic India? Many say that it was a PM speech but an election speech from Modi.

I think he aimed his speech to the election that is going to be held next year. The major points are,
    1. Sending a man to space by 2022.
    2. He told that India has developed a lot in the last 4 years.
    3. He described the present government as hard working saying that they write on rocks but not on butter.
4, He has also mentioned more chances for ladies in their ruling period. He says the maximum number of ladies were there in his cabinet.
    5. He says 90 thousand crores of rupees were saved by eliminating corruption and black money. The same money was used for uplifting the poor.
Like this, he has pointed out many of his achievements and the speech definitely giving a feeling that PM has utilised the occasion for making a claim for their party in the next elections also.
If you read the speech of CM of Telangana KCR in Hyderabad, it has also gone in the same way and he has also highlighted the achievements of his government.

Wah! 90 Thousand crore rupees saved through elimination of corruption and black money! This is 90000,00,00,000. And he could spare only One hundred crore 100,00,00,000 to help the suffering Kerala. It is only 1/900. What a generous Government of India! It knows to boost but not to help.

The highlights of the PM's 83 minutes speech are mentioned below:-

    1. India will be the engine of growth for the world economy for the next three decades as the "sleeping elephant" has started to run on the back of structural reforms like GST.

    2. Till 2014, India was among fragile five economies but today the world is seeing it as a destination of multi-billion dollar investment. The narrative has changed. Before 2014, the global institutions used to say the Indian economy was risky but today the same institutions and people believe that reform momentum would give strength to fundamentals.

    3. If the work continued at the pace that was prevalent in 2013, it would have taken one or two more decades to electrify all villages, 100 years to provide LPG gas connections to all and generations to take optic fibre to villages.

    4. The Government fulfilled the promise to provide 50 percent more than the cost of production for Kharif crops to farmers and is on the way to achieve the target of doubling farm income by 2022.

    5. Triple Talaq has caused great injustice among Muslim women. The Government is trying to end this practice but there are some people who are not wanting it to end. The PM assured the Muslim women that the Government would work to ensure justice is done to them.

    6. Tripura, Meghalaya and many parts of Arunachal Pradesh are witnessing historic peace. "From 126, Left Wing Extremism is restricted to 90 districts. We are working to ensure peace across the nation".

    7. In today's India there is no place for nepotism. Delhi's streets are free from power brokers. From the voice of power brokers, the voice of the poor is heard.

    8. The honest taxpayer of India has a major role in the progress of the nation. It is due to them that so many people are fed, the lives of the poor are transformed.

The speech of PM reflected many achievements and such achievements could be possible due to collective work of the government focussing on the different areas such as Agriculture, Health and Education. He has aroused hopes within the poor farmers where they will be provided a health insurance coverage of five lakhs per family and in that way, ten crores family will be benifited and secondly Modijee touched the nerves of the ladies of the Muslim - community condemning the Triple Talaque but he failed to pass this bill in the present session because of stiff resistance. He would concentrate on this area and soon consensus would be worked out so that it is passed next time.
He praised the role of the common - public stating that the honest tax payers are playing active roles in the development of the nation and they should not be misguided by some quarters discouraging them in filling up the taxes.
He would like to see the peasants with the substantial earnings by the end of 2022 .
To sum of his speech, it was designed in such a way to woo each every one so that he earns a massive vote in the upcoming election.

The speech was the reading of the progress report of the present government and its achievements against all odds. The gas connection, electrified villages, roads, infrastructure development, water ways and space programs were covered. What impressed me that he asked the ISRO to explore possibilities of sending manned rocket to the space and for which ISRO is bracing up and it said that it would take the challenge and complete the mission before 2022 itself. But who will go into the space is the big question and that has to be decided now itself so that preparations are to be made.

    Mr. Mohan,
If former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was alive, he would have volunteered to go to the space, I am sure.

This is also to note that the Prime Minister has not announced any new scheme from the Red Fort. He is giving stress on the implementation of the already announced schemes. On the triple talaq (and also niqa halalah) issue, he is getting the support of a substantive number of Muslim women. His target of sending an Indian astronaut in the space by 2022 has further endeared him to the middle-class educated Indians.

Ver few (read no) opposition leaders can match him in terms of vision, planning, implementation and willpower.

But ISRO is sure of sending a technical person who knows about the space science and also wiling to take personal risk and does not want anyone who is associated with politics or other.
