Do not fail to learn from failures

It is said that failure is the greatest teacher. Failure teaches us the lessons and brings out our mistakes which would have been concealed otherwise if we had not failed. So failures are not bad but not learning from failures and repeating the same mistakes every time is bad.

It all depends on how we treat and take the failure. There are some people who take the failures very seriously and as a learning experience. They do root cause analysis to find out their mistakes and make a point that they won't repeat the same next time. But there are some people who are not able to accept failures due to their ego. They often blame the circumstances, resources, luck or anything they could think of except their own mistakes for their failures. Though sometimes failures may be due to the factor which is not in our hand but many times it is due to persons own mistakes and loopholes.

It is said that failures are pillars of success. So failures are not necessarily bad but not learning and improving from failures and repeating the same mistakes, again and again, is really bad. Failures give us a greater learning opportunity than success. We should positively accept them and work on them.

They can soon become stepping stones to success.

There is no doubt that we learn from failures. When we fail then only we realize that there is something wrong in our efforts or approach.

This realization makes us to review our methodology and approach and we devise new means and methods to tackle the tasks in hand.

    Knowledge is power.

Failures are bound to happen sometimes in everybody's life. But some people ignore those mistakes by simply saying that the mistake happened because of someone else. They simply go for another issue. But this is not a correct attitude. But some people will take failures very seriously. They will try to analyse the whole issue and understand where they have committed a mistake and they will never do the same mistake again and again. That is the learning he got from a mistake he had committed. So the mistake is a tool to learn and will be educative if you use that properly.

Yes I also agree with the authors that every one is duty bound to learn from our failures. In fact I would go one step further that on close observation of others failure also we can learn and set right ourselves. Failures are the success steps to the future and that does not mean that one keep on doing mistakes. If the mistake was unintentional and not known, it is pardonable and law also excuses. But the mistake was done intentionally and seeking to modify ourselves is something not considered good by many. And never allow mistakes to crop in and that must be avoided always.

No doubt, this is a very necessary thread. But since time immemorial, our elders are telling us to learn from mistakes and since time immemorial, we are not learning from our mistakes. So, this advice will continue and mistakes will happen.

If there is no mistake, the society will not be interesting. It will be a boring assembly of people.
