May possibly have been built by the Mamluk Dynasty which sometimes also referred to as Slave Dynasty or Ghulam Dynasty. The Qutb ud-Din Aibak was the founder of this Mamluk Dynasty in Delhi & commissioned the construction of this monument in 1192 AD. There isn't a clear known factor for suggesting of the actual reasons causing the naming of this tower.

    1. Qutub Minar was built in Delhi on a Hindu religious site (maybe over a Vishnu Stambha).
    2. It was built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak, a Sultan of Mamluk Dynasty.
    3. Delhi Sultanate is not any dynasty. Many dynasties like the Mamluk Dynasty, Khilji Dynasty, Balban Dynasty, Tughlaq Dynasty and Lodhi Dynasty ruled during the period of 1192 to 1526.
