Short story writing contest on Idioms and phrases

Here is an interesting short story writing contest based on 'Idioms and Phrases' which we have learnt in our school/college days. You can choose an idiom/phrase of your own and write a creative story based on the idiom which reflects the meaning of the phrase and post it as a Forum thread giving a suitable title. It is not necessary to put the Idiom as the title of the thread. The idiom can be used in between the story or at the end of the story as a moral. Your contest entry should be original and very creative carrying the message of the Idiom/phrase. Also, don't forget to mention the idiom you have selected at the end of the story.

For ex., take the story of the Stork and Fox which sends the message – 'Tit for tat'. Also, we say to those who migrate to distant place with a hope of earning more- 'Distant hills look greener!'.

Just a recap of the general guidelines for your contest entries in ISC:

    1. Submit your entries in: Discussion Forums ->About IndiaStudyChannel->Competition Entries. Then submit the URL of the thread in a response to this thread to be eligible for the prizes. You may edit your entry at any time before the close of the contest for correcting spelling, grammar and typos. However, you cannot edit to change the main content.

    2. Only one entry per member is allowed.

    3. All members including Editors can participate in this contest.

    4. The story should not be less than 350 words and not to be exceeding the word limit of 600 words.

The first prize will carry Rs.200, and there will be two second prizes of Rs.100 each and consolation prizes of Rs.75 for up to two entries. It would be purely based on the receipt of No. of entries and no. of Prizes are liable to change, if there is more participation. All the valid entries would be given 10 points each.

The contest will be closed on 15th Dec'18 as per IST.
