Miss Africa could not celebrate her victory properly

The beauty pageant was being held in Nigeria. The winners of all African countries were participating in the contest for selecting Miss Africa. On the last day of the contest, the much-awaited result was declared. Miss Congo, Dorcas Kasinde, won the prestigious title of Miss Africa. Celebration started.

But Miss Kasinde could not fully enjoy her moment of glory. The fireworks which followed the announcement of the winner, was the culprit. The just-crowned Miss Africa's hair was set aflame. But very fortunately, before a major incident, the fire was quickly put out. There has been no damage to Miss Kasinde. This happened on 28th December, 2018.

This is perhaps the first time such mishap happened in the beauty pageant anywhere in the world. I hope in future the organizers of such event will take necessary precautions learning from this incident.

This is very unfortunate. How can such incident happen in an event which is popular in countries? She might not have imagined that she would meet such an accident when she won this prestigious crown in her country. I am shocked why people dont give priority to safety. What would have happened if her hair were burnt or anything severe had happened with her?

It is really very unfortunate. This shows the negligence of the organisers in making risk free arrangements for the celebrations. In a way Miss Kasinde is fortunate. The mishap has not become wild. This might have caused a huge loss to her. One should be very careful when they organise big function especially when they use fireworks and other hazardous activities. This is the irony of life. She might have got confused. Whether to be happy for being The Miss Africa or should worry for being lost her hair in the mishap.

In the euphoria of celebration we simply ignore the safety measures. This is happening time to time in many places in many situations but the people and organisers always forget the basic safety aspects.

In this case it was very critical as the whole career of that woman was at stake. A injury to a woman disfiguring her is the biggest blow and unfortunate event.

Fireworks are to be avoided in the crowded place. Now a days other type of crackers are coming in use which only create sound but no fire. People have already started to use them in the birthday parties of the children. We must adopt them in our fun and frolic functions.

    Knowledge is power.
