Serving mankind is more than serving God.

It is 26th January. All the school children are going to the flag hoisting in the school. Mohan and Ramu are waiting in the bus stand. They were holding tricolour flag of India in their hands. They are very much excited about the republic day celebrations after hearing from their grandfather the previous night the heroics of various freedom fighters to get independence to the country.

Mohan noticed an old man who is slowly walking from the other side of the road and trying to cross the road. He is holding two bags in both of his hands. He is not able to walk properly because of the weight in the hands. Mohan asked Ramu to come with him. Both of them reached the old man and helped the old man by carrying the bags and escorting him to cross the road. The old man thanked the two boys and waiting in the bus stand.

This total episode has been watched by the School Head Master from a side who entered into that road when these boys were helping the old man. He appreciated both of them for the kind-hearted and helping nature. He has taken them to school with him.

The flag is hoisted by the Head Master and in his address, he appreciated these two boys by their names and advised all other boys also to have kindness and affection to old and needy people. He told the students that serving mankind when they are in need is more than serving God. He offered special gifts to Mohan and Ramu as a token of appreciation for their helping nature.

They are thrilled and they are feeling very happy for the recognition they got on that day. They are very eager to go back to the house and inform the parents about the total happenings.

It is a good write-up by the author. He deserves appreciation for the efforts he has put in. The episode that the author mentioned in the post was common in the past. However, today it is difficult to see such kindness. Hope the good times come back where people used to help each other and gave greater importance to service of mankind. The title used by the author is apt for the post and has touched my heart. The author deserves lots of appreciation for that. All the best for the contest.

A good thought depicted by the author in this thread. It is very true that helping the humanity is the best way to serve in the world.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

It is really a nice thing to observe that some children are having such sense of helping to the elders. We should in fact motivate our children to help the needy persons whatever little they can do. If all the parents and teachers follow this the new generation will have good traits.
    Knowledge is power.

Motivation among the children to help others is possible through right kind of teaching to our kids. In fact, we have lost an ideal family net where the elder members such as the grand - parents were also the family - members and those grand - parents took active part in moulding the charecter of the kids and these children adore their grands because of their closeness. With the diminishing trend of such a tradition, there has been a greater set - back within the children lacking proper guidance. We cannot even blame their parents because of their excess indulgence in their assigned jobs causing less attention to their kids. This can be tackled if a greater stress is given by the school - authorities to introduce a session of moral - teaching where they will be taught essential atticates to deal with different people outside their families.
