    Let winking be a pleasure

It is human nature to pass judgment on anything and everything. People do not refrain themselves from making negative comments at any circumstance or highlighting the demerits of any person, but to such people, I would like to quote: "Wink at small faults; remember thou hast great ones".

The word 'winking' is usually used for fun and frolic while sometimes used in a very derogatory sense too. To my amazement, the four-letter word makes a powerful impact when used by the great personality, Benjamin Franklin, in the quotation mentioned above. He very interestingly conveyed a great message to the people through his quote. To 'wink at something'means to ignore, and the saying emphasises on to ignore the small mistakes of others; one must remember that he or she makes greater mistakes than others.

Priya Prakash Varrier, the Malayalam actress, became an instant celebrity through her wink video which is a clip from her debut movie. I wonder that if some girl would have winked at any boy in real life then how the boy and others would have reacted to it. Maybe the girl would be labelled as a flirt, so some actions look interesting to watch in a movie or a video but not in real life. Winking is one such action which is not in common practice among every section in society other than the friends.

Thus, when winking is usually not accepted as a civilised act then it's better to wink away winking that represents flirting. Sadly enough, people like to wink away the presence of evil practices rather than winking at someone.

Let us bring in some positive changes around us to give a respectable and gracious life to the generation next. Until then let us not have a wink of sleep to make our children fondly remember us as the winking stars of their lives. So, let winking be a pleasure for all.

A good write-up that reminds us to ignore small mistakes and look at the more important aspects of life. There is a lot of difference between the reel and the real world and it is true that winking is not a common practice and there are people who find it offensive.

There must be positive changes in our lives and adults show the ways to the young. The younger generation follows exactly what the adults are doing and adults should lead a life which itself can become an example for the kids. We cannot forget this and it is the duty of all the seniors to make the experience of life pleasurable for the next generation.

Winking is getting new dimensions in public life and yes, it is absolutely correct to say that we should use it for fun and frolic.

In fact till winking does not offend or hurt a person, there is no hidden meaning to it. It is only because there are some notions associated with it in the society that we feel it as a inferior or ulterior human gesture. Otherwise it is as good as other similar gestures.

The author's idea that it should be accepted like a normal gesture for fun has some merit as that will pave way for its normal acceptance in society and it will not be considered as a taboo matter, the tag it has got for so many centuries of human history.

A good thought by the author. Instead of taking it as an offence one should take it in a lighter spirit as an amusement or fun.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
