    Meditation reduces your thoughts to just a Point

    In this stressful life nowadays, meditation is need of the hour. Many people try to practice meditation and believe me it is not an easy job. Some people are successfully able to master it while others just try and quit as they are not able to control their minds.

    Meditation can be thought of as a journey of the mind from a wide area to just a point. Here your aim should be to tame your mind and gradually shrink your thoughts which wander over all directions and focus them to a single point. This single point depends on you. It may be an idol of God, a serene nature scene, soft music etc. When our thoughts get reduced to a point an ultimate state of relaxation and thoughtlessness is achieved.

    A very thoughtful point on meditation. It helps to relax and increase concentration. To tame our mind and make it focus on certain things is very difficult task but if we are able to do it, it will increase our concentration and help us attain control over our thoughts.

    It is difficult to control our mind but through meditation, one can achieve it. Many of our problems are due to over thinking and meditation can help us to calm down and restrict our mind from wandering away from our captive and roam around.

    Yes, meditation is good for the health but that is not easy to perform because in meditation one has to control the mind and its very tough to do that and focus our mind to a point. Meditation has lots of health benefits like it reduces stress which we all face in this competitive world, it helps to increase self-control and helps to get rid of the addictions. Many meditation techniques help you to relax and control the thoughts that can disturb sleep. Meditation can shorten the time it takes to fall asleep and increase sleep quality. Meditation can reduce the perception of pain in the brain. This may help treat chronic pain when used as a supplement to medical care or physical therapy. Blood pressure decreases not only during meditation but also over time in individuals who meditate regularly. This can reduce strain on the heart and arteries, helping prevent heart disease. There are many benefits who regularly meditate but it's not an easy task to control the mind.

    The author has brought out a nice piece of narration on effectiveness of meditation for bringing us from a multidimensional thought process to a point of nothingness but calm and tranquility.

    Meditation is a time tested method of achieving calmness of the mind and reducing the worries and anxieties in our thinking process. It is also claimed that meditation can reduce the stress levels considerably, control the blood pressure and make a person mentally strong and fresh for taking up new assignments. Our scriptures are full of stories and narrations on the effectiveness of meditation and it is believed that the ancient sages who practiced meditation, were able to control their body rhythms accordingly.

    Meditation is nothing but focusing on a particular point. It is very difficult for us to control our mind. It will be making rounds and rounds and thinking many issues at a time. So we are not able to solve our problems the way in which we want to do it. If we can concentrate our mind on a particular point and slowly if we forget all other aspects at that moment, we can derive a solution to the problem in mind. This is possible when you can meditate.
    Drona wanted Kauravs and Pandavas to shoot a bird in its eye which was hanging on a tree. He called one by one asked them what they are seeing. He wanted them to see the bird only but the answers he was getting from them were different. Finally, he called Arjuna and asked him to get ready to shoot the bird. Just Arjuna made his arrow ready, Drona asked what all he was seeing. He said he was seeing the eye of the bird only. Nothing more or nothing less. Arjuna is able to shoot the bird in the eye and he is successful in that. To get this concentration we should keep our mind in our control and for that meditation is a good tool.

    Meditation is a powerful tool to control one's mind. Even the scientific research agrees for this positive outcome of meditation. Those who practice it know its true benefits. It has a connection with Yoga and it is believed that Yoga is for the well being of body while meditation for the wellness of mind.
