#UPDATE Read some updates regarding this competition and make sure you follow the rules.

We are adding new entries to the series once we receive a good volume of the content for the entries already announced. When new entries are added, you may continue to add content to the previous entries but you may get lower points/credits for the previous entries since there is a good chance that your content is no longer adding value to the page.

Education in Your City - Competition Series - #10+

    Dear all,

We are coming with a unique competion series for the next academic admission season.

The goal is to increase content on existing pages related to colleges, education and admission. Here is the details:

We will announce a page link here. You all can visit the page and add your comments/content in the bottom of that page to add value to that page.

Once we receive enough content/comments for that page, we will share a new page url here. You can continue contributing to that page until we announce the next page again.

You can see the series number mentioned in the subject line of this thread. When a new page is shared, the series number on this thread will be updated.

    Here is the the series:

    #1. Colleges in Mangalore, Karnataka

    #2. Colleges in Cochin, Kerala

    #3 Colleges in Bangalore

    #4 Colleges in Coimbatore

    #5 Colleges in Erode

    #6 Colleges in Salem

    #7 Colleges in Chennai

    #8 Colleges in Mysore

    #9 Colleges in Tiruchirappalli

Below list includes a slightly different set of pages. They are pages with a specific type of colleges (like Medical college, Engineering Colleges etc). So post your content/comments accordingly.

    #1 Engineering colleges in Mangalore

    #2 Medical colleges in Mangalore

    #3 Nursing colleges in Mangalore

#4 Business Management colleges in Mangalore

Go to the above page(s) and add your content/comments at the bottom. Keep in mind that the content should be oriented towards colleges, courses or admission in that particular city. If you studied in that city, you can even share your academic/city experience.

    Prizes & Rewards

Every contributing member will get double rewards for the content/comment added during this period on the pages we announce. The double reward will be published at the end of this series in a couple of months time.

In addition, there will be a first prize (Rs 500), a second prize (Rs 250) and one or more third prizes (Rs 100 each).

If you have any questions regarding this program, feel free to ask below.

I am confirming with Tony Sir if we have to submit the content like an info update about a specific college from that list or generally about the colleges in the city and other education-related aspects. Please wait till this is clarified by him as if it is the latter, then you will not probably require access to info update or the college section for this particular reward program. Hence, I am removing my instructions in response to #687072 to avoid confusion.

Are the relevant external links allowed in comments or posts?

Here's what is we are supposed to do for this reward program -
    1. Scroll right to the bottom of the page of which Tony Sir has given the link in this announcement.

    2. At the bottom of the page, you will see the box under the heading 'Submit your comments'.

    3. In that box, put in the text of good quality. We can write whatever we want related to the page. It is not about giving information on any specific college. It is a generic kind of box, where we can put in any type of comment or feedback or a sort of review related to the page's theme, namely about education in Mangalore city. So we can write about our experience with any college, we can write a general review of the colleges we know of, talk about the city in terms of its education, the admissions or placement aspect of colleges in the city, and so on.

Answering Padmini's query - We can also put relevant internal links to related pages of ISC (not external links) which will enhance the content.

    4. The comments we put in will be rewarded with points and cc and for every comment, we put in, we will get double. Thus, for example, if you get 10 cash credits, at the end of this series, an additional 10 cash credits will be credited to your account.

The focus of this reward program (and future series) is to get relevant content on the page, this content being, as stated by Tony Sir, related to academics, such as colleges, courses or admissions.

If anyone is unable to submit text in that box or have any queries related to this reward program, please raise them in a response to this thread only.

What is the minimum word limit of comment we should write?

Please note that what is expected is content about the education scenario in general, through information about colleges and universities and focusing on their uniqueness. So while you can mention certain courses in general in a neutral manner, do not give needless specific details about courses such as eligibility requirements, number of seats, etc. Do not submit a list of courses of each institute with these details at the Education series' pages. That information should be given at the specific college page only, via the 'add a course to this college' link.

Also, quality of the content will matter, not the number of words.

@Shouvik Maj, post your comments in comments and updates box on the page Colleges in Bangalore, not in this thread.

Members are requested to note that the content to be submitted should be related to colleges, universities, and courses only. No information related to schools should be submitted for this Education series. Also, please avoid giving generalized text that can apply to any of the cities (e.g. colleges here offer good hostels, transport is available, and similar kind of text). It makes for repetitive text across the cities.
