Why some of the Games are not included in the Olympics?

As we know Olympic federation will conduct Olympic games that include a lot of games each nation will send their players to play the Olympic games but if we see some of the games are not included in the Olympic games they are Cricket, Polo, Darts, Squash and Bowling and some recognized games. Why some of the games have not to included in the Olympic games? Is it due to a lack of interest to see them by the spectators? or Is there any other logic for not including these games? Please share your thoughts on this.

International Olympics committee members are mainly from Europe or North America. Their influence will be more on the selection of games for the Olympics. The games which are not very famous in the above regions are not generally included in the list. Cricket is not very popular in many of the European countries and the USA. That is why that game is not included in the list. Long back itself there was a thought to include Cricket but as there are no participant countries those days it was not included.

Polo is the most popular sport in the USA that is also not included in the Olympic games so your theory is proven wrong in this case.
